One thing that I see often at my site is what I call "dangling ubb code"
It most often happens w/the quote option since people want to whittle it down so that they are addressing a specific part of a post, but I've also seen it in other situations.
Here's an example:
[i]Test Italics[i] ... or maybe like this [i]Test Italics/i]
Is there any way a hack can be created to look for broken UBB code and either fix it (ala like most spell check programs with word processors) or prompt users to fix it (ala the spell check associated with this board)?

Detecting UBBCode that is still present (i.e. has an unclosed open or an unopened close) after filtering would be trivial.... But closing it automatically is a majorly tall order.
UBB.classic: Love it or hate it, it was mine.

Okay ... I can accept that!
I'd love it then if a hack could be developed that would work like the current spell check--to at least prompt them with the dangling code.
Thanks, Charles.
