I've wanted something like this for a long time, and never got around to mentioning it.

THere's times I would REALLY like to be able to change the last visited date/time in my cookie files. Ever since the advent of UBB6, any entry into the UBB for whatever reason alters your cookie files. UBB5 didn't do it that way, if you didn't go in through the "front door", then you could play around in the UBB, and not mess up your cookies.

Today, I used the "Email login info to user" link in the control panel, and it loaded up the board and messed up my last read cookies.

I really wish there was a script that would ask you what date/time you wanted the cookie set for for any particular UBB and go and set it, so your last read stuff would be what you wanted it to be.

It probably doesn't even need to be loaded into UBB itself, it probably could be an additional cgi file, using cookie libraries from the other files if it needed to.

Any thoughts? Anyone willing to try this? I'd prefer it be a seperate CGI file, that way us beta testers could actually use it. smile

That is not what I'm talking about.

I"m talking about manipulating my cookie variables to be whatever date/time I want them to be - not just "Set to current" which is what that UBB function does.

Specifically I want to be able to set it to a defined date/time in the past.

Can you elaborate a little further on this?

We've had a lot of people complain about cookie problems in recent versions. 6.3.0 introduces dumpcookies, which will dump the cookies that your browser is sending to the UBB, that is recognizes as belonging to it.

It would be pretty easy to just hijack that code and modify it...
