Are you going to release the "patch" like you did for 5.46a?? That was really nice. Makes it a lot easier. ;-)

Rats? You mean you don't want any new features or code optimizations? [Linked Image]

Why do updates require a completely new upgrade? Other software pastes overtop

Answer because you don't modify most end user software yourself, at code level..

Sorry Nav, I asked and answered what was sure to be asked..LOL

The only two mod's I couldn't live without will work as stand alones (cympm & Who's online) otherwise any other "hacks" will show up in the UBB eventually. Remember when we were all thrilled with flaming folders..? [Linked Image]

/me still wants a patch...

:-)

Couldn't you just do what Allen did for 5.46a?? I can see that not happening with 6, but that is a total code overhaul... Shouldn't 5.47 be simple enough?

That would work for someone updating from 5.46a, but the guy that .......or gal [Linked Image]....that is updating from 5.32 or freeware or?

Let me tell you what I did before I came to Infopop.

The version notes almost always show which files have been changed. I made a habit of grabbing each version whether I intended to upgrade or not and used a tool such as Beyond Compare to look at that was changed in those few scripts. Then I knew the exact pieces of code to add to my hacked boards. Piece of cake, 15 minutes and I was done usually.

Any time there was a monster update that involved most of the scripts that is when I would usually just start rehacking but for minor updates I would just put in the lil code pieces.

Nav,

Any chance 6.0 or soon after will let the censor check, the sig line, as well as subjects? And all caps are blocked in both as well?

It's out [Linked Image]

C_P I did censorcheck in signatures (at post time) for a friend of mine and it added an almost perceptable slowdown. Some folks have horrificly long signatures, on this board in particular signatures grow to huge proportions. Censorcheck on creating signatures or editing them I am looking at now but of course users that already have signatures would not get checked until they edited it. Signature check was not added for 5.47 as I am not yet sure which approach I want to take.

(edited for grammar)
