Just upgraded to 5.47d and took all hacks out including the avatar profile field which your script took out, and it worked like a dream

Thanks so much for that script I was dreading editting 450+ members files

Hey guys just droped in and Ithink Im glad I did Im going to update my board very shortly to ubb 6 knowing Ill loose all my hacks
I HAVE ALOT OF HACKS ON MY BOARD INCLUDING CUSTOM AVATARS AND 3M HACK Which uses profile fields are you saying before I follow Info pops directions for updating from 547a to UBB 6 I need to use the script that is at the top of this page.????????
IN just reading the text in the .pl above it says to remove all hacks first If this is not possible for me to do what do you reccomend...... That is why Im not hesitating to update not even sure what Ive put in or taken out (hacks i mean}

Hey,

From what I've read u shouldn't install the new version straight over the top of a board that has added extra profile fields.

On my forums I had the avatar hack installed which was the only hack I used that added extra profile fields.

What I did was firstly turned off avatars and updated threads thru cp. Then upgraded from 5.47 to 5.47d to take out ALL my previous hacks and replace those hacked files with fresh 100% UBB written files. Then I ran CCs wonderful script (the one above) to remove all traces of the avatar code in my member files.

From what I've read upgrading whilst having a hacked board could be dangerous.

I think my profile field number is up to 19 thats bad haaaa. Is there anyway to do a fresh install and still keep all my member records.

Hey,

By running CCs script I believe u would lose the bottom 3 of those profile fields which is what u want

I'd wait on CCs response tho

OK wooould it be safe to say close my board and run the .pl above than upgrade of course backup first!!! Not being able to remove the hacks is what bothered me.....

Well I went ahead and took the plunge cant get into my control panel to open it up without getting rid of the added hacklines in member profile. tryed running the script above heres what I get I am upgrading right now from 547a to 547b Ihave already uploaded files but cant acces control panel untill I fix this in members dir. getting this error trying to run script above
still no good. cant get the script above to run. HELP

Can't locate UltBB.setup in @INC (@INC contains: D:/Perl/lib D:/Perl/site/lib .) at d:inetpubscriptscgi-bindeletehacklines

Im going to try and make another file and rename it correctly
Help that didnt work either

Don't put the script in your Members directory, but it in your cgi-bin where your other UBB files are located. Make sure UltBB.setup is also there and your permissions are set correctly.

speed theres another script in the first page that will back up your extra profile fields too, i suggest you run that one too (to not loose the extra profile fields of your users).

charles capps said something about added Thread Fields in some hacks too, but i was unable to find what hacks do that. (none in my board do this)

Guys the script is in my cgi-bin and permissions are set correctly
Although I have copyed the script twice and tryed the .pl severl times I could give you a URL BUT that would be a dangerous url to post. I guess there is a possiblitty that in notepad its screwing something up when I create the file could someone send me a known good copy of deletehacklists.pl

download the Ultbbsetup and grab the content of the variable $CGIPath, inside qq(), and put this before UltBB.setup in require "UltBB.setup";

like $CGIPath = qq(/something/inside/folder/something);

change this

Ihave double checked the change in fromline16backup.pl must be a syntax error somewhere have tried both ways any suggestions Not having a good day. This is what is comming up

Everything seems to be fine although in profile there is still a entry for ICQ that must have been line 15 spellcheck dosent work anymore in the upgrade I didnot replace the spellcheck folder it says it cant find sproxy.ini file which I also didnt change But those .pl file are deffinitly different for win 32 feel kind of stupid that I couldnt get it to work.......

yes but any profile #'s added will be there still.....and info in those #'s i mean........so u gotta change the limit to the # u had b4 or else ull get a hacking error........@least thatz what happened with 547d.......no idea bout 6 yet......i been waitin all day for it and its still not out yet!

You ought to document this Put it out in the two versions win32 like I had to use and the original I dont see any traces left of any of the hacks that I had.. Which is a little depressing but compforting to think I shouldnt have any problems with the 6.0 install I was worried about my free mail option because I have alot of people that use it so I stuck it in the header of my control panel. Can leave it there it works fine.

I'm trying to run this script so I can hopefully rescue my board (it's already been upgraded to beta 6, v75 after not being cleaned from a slightly modified 5.47. It had the avatar hack and last post as extra profile fields exist when I did the upgrade. The new board works but is re-writing old member files starting with #1 as new people sign up to register).

Anyway, I backed up my member files and am trying to now run the fromline16backup.pl script. After uploading the file and renaming it, I received this error when trying to execute it:

CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:

Can someone offer a possible explanation on something I may have done wrong in trying to execute the script?

If the ugprade went successfully, then you won't have an UltBB.setup file for the script to read..........

Even after completing the upgrade, I still have an Ultbb.setup file in my cgi-bin directory that contains my Ultimate BB cgi files. But as I wrote earlier this script returned the above error saying it couldn't find it.

Help! I did everything you said, and all the member files are working just fine.

But when I open my UBB 6.0, it shows member names either properly or as an image location. This script DID remove the image locations from the member files (I checked), but UBB 6.0 doesn't seem to know this.

Help?

just a note that this scripts are NOT for using with ubb6. as i didnt upgrade my board yet, and im cleaning the lines first, i dont know where ubb6 puts the member lines. i think some beta testers passed through this..

again, please DONT USE THIS SCRIPTS WITH UBB6.

edit: im really worried about this, because ubb6 has plenty of new profile lines, and this script may delete those lines, if used incorrectly, if im not mistaken (reading some frightening statements above). and as i said in both scripts, backup your member files before using those.

again, maybe we need another script to unscramble what ubb6 did with your member files.. but i dont have more information on that, sorry.

did you have backup of the member files? actually, as i said in my edit, i dont really know where ubb6 puts the exceding lines, but i heard it scrambles the lines.

this thread https://www.ubbdev.com/ubbcgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=20&t=000079 has the mapping of the profile lines of the member files, i dont know if its up-to-date. you can check them out to see if all the profile lines are there... did you use the scripts with ubb6?

you know there are 2 scripts right? one for backuping and another for deleting, right?
