well, cheese and ham actually. I was so hungry I made myself one, I think I put too much cheese in, I feel a bit ill and probably going to have some weird dream about feather dusters or something. Right, I'll be shutting up now.

Ahh, young Sally-san, it take many yeahs of practise and dedication to learn the art of Cal-bashing, if you follow the way of the cucumber, you will eventually reach a state of enlightened sarcasm, at which point the whole world will be your crustacean of choice.. Actually, I dunno.. I'm probably too dumb to realise when he is being insulting, so he doesn't bother any more.. or something like that..

They should also feel free to join in..

Lucia, nice cat you have there Borg, this thread should really carry a public health warning. Fortunatly, no one could be bothered, thus trapping more innocent victims in the mindlessness. [ February 24, 2001: Message edited by: Sally ]

Hehe, I used to say "That's pants" all the time..
But then being a (gasp) northerner, I used to talk quite oddly. Although anything is preferable to sounding like an american (which I do now)..
Have you noticed that it's just a select few people posting in this thread?
I'm still freaked out by the headless almonds..

Ahaha! As a southerner, I laugh at your accent! What do you say now, "grass" or "grarse"? Hehe, everyone's giving us a wide berth. You and me both. Sally, you should be some kind of childrens fiction author who writes freaky stories they relive in therapy, 30 years later.

Cal & Sal: "Grass" or "Grarse"? Lucia: I spent a month over in Canada last year, and I *cringed* every time I had to say "glass", "bath" or "garage". Get the strangest looks...

My accent is somewhere between London Wideboy and The Queen Mother- disturbing at the best of times. The more I get drunk, the further my accent progresses south from about Manchester. Some friends taped me at various stages during a party to show me the next day. @ Lucia

Just move somewhere else and you'll unconciously pick up the accent.. just because of the cringe factor.. I still get people asking me about my accent, but at least it's less pronounced now.. You have no idea how boring certain conversations can get..
grass.. Always been grass, always will be grass. Only has one r so why say it grarse?

Except breakfast cheese... the plastic-y stuff that comes sliced in packets... mmm, I eat whole packets of that straight...

That must be in series 5 pt2, which means I've seen it but not for a while.. I have every red dwarf episode on tape, except for the second half of series 5... can't find that one anywhere..
I love red dwarf..

Smeg!
Try borders.com I just ordered 2 tapes of season 7..
the episode is "Quarrentine" Rimmer is afraid of getting a holo virus, so he puts Kryten, Cat, and Lister in quarentine for 3 months.
Great show.. The tapes I just got, have new smeg ups, and interviews.
"Smoke me a clipper I'll be back for Christmas.. (oh whatever)" - Arnold Rimmer pretending to be Ace..

Series 5 is no longer being published over here, so I have to try find it in a store somewhere.. Just got hold of the first part a couple weeks back, now gotta find part 2 somewhere. Series 7 is ok, I kinda felt it was losing it by that point though.. The earlier ones are the best, specially season 3-4..
Backwards is one of my favorite episodes.

Lucia, Are you in the UK or US? If you're in the US, try Borders.com , I see some of 5 there. I'm looking for the middle tape for season 7. Then I have em all! My fav episode is "Back to reality" When it first aired here I was shocked, for a second anyway.. thought it might be the last episode. One of the tapes I have (Season 8) has only 2 episodes (Byte 3) so they filled the space with a TV appearance by the crew on "Can't cook won't cook" but called it "Can't smeg, won't smeg"
It was hilarious! Even Dwanye Dibbly showed up.. (Cat siad he'd never be on the same team as the Bri-Nylon Party..) LOL
I hope they do movies, and we can seem them here. I really hope the shows come out on DVD.

Byte 3 series 7 has an a-z of red dwarf that's really funny, even includes the guys who got the crocodile dropped on their heads in one of the Ace Rimmer episodes..

damn, Red Dwarf kicks arse. does anyone remember that tribute Kyrton made when Rimmer left? I was nearly pissing myself with laughter ~Arnold, Arnold, Arnold Rimmer, he's such a fantastic swimmer~ oh, and how can this thread go without a mention of the most excellent Holly?

He's not as funny in series 7. In the beginning, and when he first became female were the best. (6 black holes just detected) Rimmer: "Holly! How could you not see SIX black holes til we're this close to them?!?!" Holly: "Well, you see.. the funny thing about space is: It's black. And the funny thing about black holes are: They're black."

Yep, I know all about the two Krytens.. If you watch Backwards, you'll notice that Kryten is really nervous, since it was his first episode, he slipped up a couple times..
The thing my fiance and I do now, we've seen all the episodes so often, is come up with all these random inconsistencies, we like to call Dwarfisms..
For a basic one, answer this question.. How many times has Rimmer had sex..
Oh, and the arnold rimmer song is hilarious..
He's arnold, arnold arnold Rimmer, more reliable than a garden strimmer, without him life would be much grimmer, he will never need a zimmer

According to the episode when they break their legs (Lister and Cat), Rimmer has had sex once.. (before death LOL)
BTW, the rimmer song is called the Munchkin song.. "... he will never need a zimmer"
Okay here's one..
What is the name of the Red Dwarf Captain? It is mentioned in season 8.
Hint:" If the crew ever finds out I'm really _ _ _ _ _ _ the donut boy .."
LOL

Captain's name is Holister..
What's the name of his second in command?
Oh, and Rimmer has, at various points throughout the series, had sex zero times (he says "Imagine making love to a woman", once (with McGruder in the episode you're referring to), At another point, he talks about losing his virginity in the back seat of a car when he was 17 (lister lost his age 12 on the booten Municipal Golf course).. Oh, and Rimmer has sex with a virtual McGruder, and a hologrammatic woman in the course of the series.
There are literally tonnes of dwarfisms, which you get to recognise and notice the more you watch it..
Another one is the matter of Lister, who his parents are, etc..

Lucia, ahh. but he's done it more than that. Remember series 8 when he takes that syrum stuff that makes him really attractive to all the women and he's at the officer's dinner and goes to get the coffee about 5 times, lol!

Oh yeah, I forgot those ones.. I dont' like 8 as much so I don't watch it as much..
C_P close, but oh so far..
His actual name is Frank Todhunter..
He's only ever referred to by his first name once, by Holly, when he puts Lister in stasis.. The conversation goes "Holly, activate the stasis field".. Holly says "Right you are Frank"..
If you check the credits of an episode he was in, you'll see I'm right.. hehe, trick question I know..

Okay my turn...
Arnold Rimmers name is listed as
A.J.Rimmer BSC
What does the BSC stand for and why is it ironic?
Extra points: he tells people his middle name is Jonathan, what is it really?
