I am having a BIG problem with a couple "trouble-makers" using those anonymous Third-Party-Proxy-Server web sites (like anonymizer.com.) Someone told me a couple also use rotating IP#s and such but I have been unable to find any thing on that.

Does anyone maintain a list of all these site's IP numbers so they may all be banned? If not, I think it would be a good idea to start a list so other board operators having these problems may ban the trouble makers from using these sites to post.

Here is what I have so far:

IP Numbers:

  • 207.136.42.147 --> Anon.xg.nu
  • 64.23.13.209 --> Anonymize.net
  • 216.34.244.223 --> Anonymizer.com
  • 216.221.167.176 --> iprive.com
  • 216.71.115.221 --> i-safetynet.com
  • 64.27.94.111 --> nonymouse.org
  • 216.110.34.8 --> rewebber.de
  • 216.104.228.106 --> Safeweb.com
  • 216.104.228.138 --> Safeweb.com
  • 206.117.161.81 --> Samspade.org
  • ??? --> siegesoft.com
  • 66.51.107.2 --> spaceproxy.com
  • 208.184.25.39 --> surfola.com
  • 161.58.232.106 --> theinternet.cc, anonmail.net, cyberelectric.com, & skuz.net
  • 206.185.24.199 --> ultimate-anonymity.com

E-mail addresses:

  • anon.xg.nu
  • anonmail.net
  • anonymizer.com
  • cotse.com
  • cyberelectric.com
  • iprive.com
  • nonymouse.org
  • privacy.net
  • skuz.net
  • sneakemail.com
  • theinternet.cc

Rather than making a list here, for every passing by spammer to get ahold of and use on some other unsuspecting board, wait for my "Allow Anonymous Users?" hack (due with the release of UBB6) that connects every so often here with a central database at UBBDev, and retreives the latest list of anonymous proxys and free email providers (which kind people here at the site will continually submit new ones they find to)
and gives admins the option to include one/both of the "banned proxy servers" and "banned free email providers". smile

So with this hack you wouldn't have to exclude Hotmail and yahoo users if you didn't want to? Or its an all or none scenario?

I have too many users on my boards that use hotmail and a like as their only e-mail address and I wouldn't want to ban people that do use those popular sites. wink

Since CGI isn't indexed by search engines I wonder how many troublemakers would stumble on to this thread. I ran some searches on google after my initial posting and I was very surprised to see how many web sites are dedicated to providing lists of "free" proxy servers that one can use legally as well as illegally. But, unfortunately these don't list the IPs that these proxies use. mad

If you get the domain of the proxy you can do a dns look up and get the IP.. most often these proxies use the same IP so in that case it would be fine.. But you will never be able to list all proxies, I personally get emailed a list of atleast 20 proxies aday....
