im looking to update my PSP5 somtime soon, what should i get? i would use the GIMP, but it only cant handle .gif files.
i figure most of you just said "what the heck is the GIMP?"
well, the gimp is a program built in Linux to quickly make great looking graphics. it was then ported into a less stable win32 version if you dont have Linux. if you want to see what the GIMP is capible of, see my sig images here: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~maxoverkill/sigs/?action=list
i would personally say its my favorite art programs, and is also free smile i still use PSP though for smaller images, mainly smilies, as it is a bit more helpful in working with small .gif files. (since GIMP does not support them)

so, getting back on topic.. what art program(s) do you use?

I use PhotoShop 5.5 & 6. I'm not used to 6 yet so I've still been using 5.5 for most everything. eek

You can also get GIMP running on Windows.. it's pretty good if you're already familiar with the way Unix programs work (as opposed to Windows programs)

I prefer Photoshop.
