My board has about 800 members, and around 10,000 impressions a day. DO you think it would be ok to try the 6.1 beta? If I do, will it be easy then to upgrade from the beta to the final 6.1.0, or would i have to start over?

Do you plan to make many custom modifications to the scripts? If not, upgrading from 6.1 beta to 6.1 final should be a simple as drag-n-drop... if we're lucky, there won't even be any HTML Template changes.

okay thanks. one more thing, i was reading the unix install .txt file, and I saw something new in the instructions. It now says that you arent supposed to put the UBB noncgi directory within the CGI directory? Why is that? Is there anyway to get around it?
I hvae my boards so that the CGI files are in the root director, public_html, so it is imposible not to put the NonCGI directory inside it. And I need the CGI in the root so that typing "domain.com" will bring up my ultimatebb.cgi as the index page...

I haven't seen that.. as long as your paths are correct in your "configuration settings" there shouldn't be a problem.

Well Hack wise, If you want to keep your hacks I'd just set up a test forum for 6.1 Beta and hack that and when you have enough hacks on the 6.1 Just make it your Main forum.
