Since Se7enet is down with the Code Red flu, I can't be jubilant there. So I'll be jubilant here. I FINALLY just ordered all the stuff for my new computer, scraped up enough ca$h to pay for it myself, since my grandparents had been procrastinating since February. Here are the specs/prices for it, if you're interested... laugh laugh laugh

CPU - Athlon 1.4ghz + HSF spacer = $201
CPU Cooler - Thermaltake DragonOrb 3 = $30
Mobo - Iwill KA266 DDR = $132
Memory - 2 x 256MB PC2100 DDR Memory = $112
HDD - IBM 60GB 7200rpm = $176
Graphics - Gainward CARDEXPERT GeForce3 PowerPack !!! (exclamation marks included) = $355
Case - Antec SX1030B + 300W pwr supply = $98
Keyboard - Nifty looking black kbd = $10
Generic black floppy = $14
2 rounded IDE cables, 1 rounded Floppy cable = 37.98
Black & white Alien case badge = $3.99
Total Price = $1160.97

Not included in the above price are my almost brand new 16X DVD drive, Hercules GameTheater XP sound card, and Klipsch 4.1 speakers; all three were bought within the past few months as replacements for my current falling-apart-POS-computer, and will be transferred over to my new box when I build it.

I have forsaken Hercules as my graphics card provider, since they dropped the NVidia line. And because the Gainward card is on red PCB, and has DVI output and a VIVO port, as well as the Blue Orb gpu cooler (which was the only thing that set Hercules above the rest anyway).

I am so happy! laugh

One thing I did not like about the setup is the Tt DragonOrb 3 which performs real bad as I heard. With that $30 dollars, add 10 more and you could've gotten the 2nd best HSF man can offer, the Thermalright SK-6.

BTW: Make sure you have ALOT of cooling as the 1.4GHz can cook an egg if not cooled properly if you know what I mean. This was a problem with my setup until I took off the side panels of my case. Now I'm getting 46C full load

Thanks, GoTo. smile If it does turn out to be a bust, I'll get the ThermoEngine or the SK-6 pretty quick.

Very nice PC Skorp. Good to know that case is up to snuff. I have used PC Power & Cooling cases so much, I don't know where to turn to find something new. wink
