Is anyone else who is using Windows XP Professional having the same problem as me?
Whenever I try to rip CD audio tracks to my hard drive, Windows Media Player always stops on the 9th track (at about 8 seconds in, I think). It doesn't matter which CD it is -- any one locks up the whole system! I've done this twice now, and decided that that was two times too many. My specs are below:
Format: 64 Kbps Windows Media Audio Drive: TDK VeloCD 12/10/32 System: Windows XP Professional

It turns out that the problem was in my drive's firmware. I upgraded to the latest firmware revision, and now it works like it should. FYI, if you have the TDK VeloCD 12/10/32 drive, get the updates here . [ 12-28-2001 01:14 PM: Message edited by: Matt Jacob ]

Or you could just use EAC and Lame instead of using media player.
