I started this thread for something else, but whatever... It's not a poll for 2 reasons: I want to hear the comments, and... hmm... I started the thread for something else tipsy

I think Trillian > ICQ 2001b, but ICQ2002a > Trillian. smile

I don't use Trillian or ICQ. Just AIM and Windows Messenger sometimes.

Both, ICQ allows one number (my main UIN) but I have many...each with a different grouping of contacts. Trillian allows me a lot more freedom with less functionality as far as ICQ goes.

On a side note, Trillian is a great thin client for IRC.

I have ICQ, but It's my least favourite out of the three I use. I have 2000b and I prefer this series from the newer ones. I may upgrade. But Trillian is better.

I have UD, AIM, and Norton AntiVirus in mine. Can I be a purist, too?

I have [Linked Image]... Can I be a purist? tipsy

Surely it's not a good idea to run UD and SETI @ the same time... They both fight for the unused cycles...

Trillian, for sure.

Not only does it only require half (and even less) of the memory ICQ 2001/2002 uses,
but I also get rid of all the ads/spam/etc. I get when using ICQ.
Not to mention how convenient it is to have this "all in one" thing, no need for launching mIRC seperately, MSN in another process and finally Mirabilis ICQ. laugh

I still like al my programs seperate. Trillian robs a few of the features on some of the programs and I don't like that.

Nice poll, LK smile

I've never, ever used ICQ, and I never plan on doing so either. All my friends use IRC, AIM and MSN, though I only use mIRC often (24/7, that is wink )

Also, can someone please tell me if Trillian has the same identifiers, commands and other stuff as mIRC? If not, mIRC > *. wink

My System Tray:

Of course, UD is the only thing I care about. wink

CTM, yes Trillian can do mostly everything mIRC can do with exception to custom scripts. I've heard they're going to be adding that support to future versions.

I use Trillian everyday and it's one of the best freeware apps I have ever come across. I'll never install or run another AIM, ICQ, Yahoo, or MSN client again!

Lord Dexter: I've never had that problem before I installed the latest version of Trillian, v0.73.
Went back to v0.72something and I don't get the problem anymore.

Then again, I'd only have to hit the Winblows key to see the taskbar again.
