I'm desperately seeking home networking links....I get so many questions about this subject that I'm dedicating a portion of Netwerkin to it. I don't really have any good resources for this kind of stuff so any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

I read a decent article somewhere discussing the differences between 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g, but damned if I can remember where. Well, if you do a search for any of those protocols you're bound to find something tipsy

Personally, I've got a 802.11b SMC Barricade Wireless Router. It's been really sweet to have during those nice summer days where you want to spend the day outside, but still be able to surf away.

There is actually a decent article in today's WSJ, first page of the 'Personal Journal' section

Networking is very confusing, I bought a hub thinking it was a router and spent about 2 hours trying to figure out why the heck my computers weren't sharing a connection with my dsl modem.

Now, my router doesn't allow me to play online games in which then after 20 minutes of surfing the web I found that I needed to open ports through the configuration screens, then I go there and there's a bunch of mumbo jumbo about trigger type trigger ports public ports public type, udp and tcp. Dear god help me, and I though html was hard.

Guess what? Now I have to find out how to open the ports without getting REALLY high pings in online games.

Anyways, http://www.hardforums.com has a networking forum (scroll down) in which you can ask questions at, although they sometimes have maintenance stuff and they close the board for like 45 minutes.
