Just to get things boiling here. I want to ask everybody what webhost they are using and what type Unix or NT. Tell us if you are happy with them or not.

Currently I am with http://interserver.net using a Unix server. I am very pleased with the support that I am getting so far.

If this is inappropriate, I apologize and will delete this post upon request, however...

Please check out my site, located at UBB Hosting or email me at webguru@ubbhosting.com for more information regarding hosting your UBB site.

I guarantee that UBB will run smoothly on my servers and, as you will notice, I offer some great prices and plans. I am currently waiving the setup fees and if you state that you saw this post, I will even assist you in setting up your UBB, whether you are just setting up a new one or transferring your current one.

You have nothing to lose, at least check it out.

Thank you for your time.

I think they're all expensive.

I'm being hosted at www.below10host.com

So far I haven't had any problems and the deal you get for the price is astounding. Unlike other hosts I've seen lately.

Check it out and tell me what ya think?

hehe, mine is free, and I get at least 400mb, on a dedicated server, with cgi, php, mysql, ssi, the whole nine yards [Linked Image] [Linked Image]

But it's exclusive [Linked Image]

I'm using Hostway, but I'm looking into some other hosts...Hostway doesn't have some of the more advanced features that I need (PHP being one of them). Only thing is that I can't find one that offers 200 MBs for $20 a month [Linked Image]

I'm currently using Communitech, and signed up a while ago, so am only paying $20 a month.

350 megs, 100 pop, unlimited auto-respond & forwarders, perl, php, ssi, telnet, VERY nice control panel, easy script installs, 25 subdomains, 25 ftp accounts, all in a nice package.

I'm also allowed to resell all of the above, on a new domain, for $15 a month.

They advertise unlimited bandwidth, but don't allow it to be taken up by anything you didn't make (game demo's, etc.)

Tech support isn't the greatest, but I don't tend to use it much anyways.

If you think that web space to UBB that the most important... you can think about http://www.hispeed.com (old http://www.interspeed.net)

Unlimited Storage Space
Unlimited Bandwidth
Unlimited Data Transfe

The only problem to you, Armage Bedar, the hispeed don't offer PHP or MySQL...

THe price: 19.95

I use altaway... costs around 350 for the year and has unlim space, bandwidth, and CPU. I am fairly happy with the service. It has never gone down though it is a tad slow at times because it seems the server I am on is a tad overloaded. But it runs fast.

Also Verio ( iServer.com ). Virtual server w/full configuration control. No problems at all.

I'm very wary when it comes to "unlimited" providers - very often it isn't unlimited (or anywhere close), and you end up getting charged an arm and a leg for "extra bandwidth fees".

http://www.burst.net seems really good - 500 MBs and a lot of options for $30 a month...

I was with pair, and rather pleased with their speed for a while. Somehow I've got the feeling they've started cramping more users on their servers lately (adding larger harddisks, and load averages have gone up significantly on 3 different accounts/servers) but it could be me. One large UBB was closed down because of system overuse lately, and a CGI reaper was installed.

Anyway, I decided to stay ahead of trouble and as boys need toys I ordered myself a nice little dedicated RaQ3i at DigitalNation. Very pleased so far!

Currently with Communitech but am changing-

The problem is I am in dedicated server territory

I will need

300 meg +
15 - 25 gig transfer (500,000 html, cgi requests)
A mail server

The good thing is that I do not need any peripherals

any suggestions?

Well, a friend of mine is going with http://www.skynetweb.com/, as he was unable to find any complaints... And if you look past the setup price, they're pretty iinexpensive.

All my sites are run by me, through a hosting contract that I have with 800hosting.

Neither I nor my customers have had any complaints in a long time.

Henge Communications

We're not expensive, pretty on par with the rest of the world.

well i currently have two domains - one is on http://www.nomonthlyfees.com and the other is free with http://www.bn3.com

nmf is good - i paid $180 for lifetime hosting... but then i wanted sub-domains, and that's why i got another domain with bn3. unlimited sub-domains - but only 5 MB and no cgi. i was going to go with http://www.digitalspace.net but i'm trying bn3 first...
