I am looking for an online presence, and I am looking for a "good, free" web host. I don't mind small amounts of advertising, just reliable. I had a site at hypermart, but they cancelled it for breach og their rules...

I had a non-business site.

Any good ones out there, that are not terribly slow, and offer a cgi-bin?

How exactly did it break the rules? I'm only asking since it would probably break other peoples' rules aswell.

Simply they said I was running a non-business site. They do not allow "personal" sites.

I have sites up at Virtualave, Xoom, many other free sites, and no problems thus far.

I am just looking for something a little better than Virtualave..

No no no... I do not knowingly break TOS agreements..
I broke theirs as they did not specify that I CAN'T have a "personal" site.
It was an honest mistake...

Try www.domaindlx.com or www.wiktor.dk (no banner) or www.spaceports.com (no banners, i think) or free.prohosting.com (no banners for sure, 15 megs, CGI, SSI, FTP, not a bad support)

I had a personal site with Hypermart for years since they opened. NO Problem at all.

May be they had a bad day, so they decided to close some account randomly. Unfortunately, you are so unlucky to be one of them. Sorry.
