This forum needs a happy story. Not so long ago I went to find a new host. I stumbled across a place called www.digitalprinceton.net and the adventure began. I ran UBB, Postnuke and a variety of other things and most of them went well.

They have recently upgraded to some new servers and are actually ASKING UBB owners to park them there. I have had the pleasure of dealing with a guy named steve over there and the customer service is fantastic. I moved Netwerkin to the new servers earlier this week and I can't tell you how happy I am with them.

If you run a UBB, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. I don't get a commission or anything so you don't have to mention me but in these times where more and more host are dropping UBBs these guys shine.

Looks like a good deal, indeed!

I wonder how much they'd charge for additional 20 GB bandwidth...

They will work with you on that. They have a site with a UBB running there that uses 60 Gig a month and the owner is happy. It really is a great thing when you find a hosting company that's flexible with bandwidth or storage limits.

Neat!

My previous host kicked us because we exceeded out bandwidth limits... 75 GB a month. eek

Now we've got a dedicated server/connection for free. laugh

But it's definately something I'll keep in mind if something goes wrong.

And yes that server is good. smile

Great host, great guys that run it. I did some work for them a while back on gaming servers. They are VERY flexible for me, I will not give u details of what I got but trust me they can work around if you need more bandwidth ect. thumbsup

Well if Gearhost piss me about once more Digital Princeton it is.
Gearhost said my site attracted so much traffic that they would only keep my site up if I displayed their logo at the bottom.

That sounds like extortion to me.

Well basically they shut down my site for about 2 days because of the CPU usage because the site was a big hitter.
Thing is this was before I installed any real hacks only last reply by was installed whilst I was running 6.2.0

They said they would be willing to put the site back up if I placed a their logo on there so rather than find a host which offered 30 gigs bandwidth and 500 meg space I decided to leave it.

But for the new redesign Im about to do I dont really want to have a stupid logo at the bottom of every page especially when I dont get commision for it. frown

Well, some members at my UBB said it loaded faster for them after the change, but I don't see a difference. Could be because I'm in Japan though.

I know that this is an old thread, but I'd like to share my experiences with Digital Princeton. I have switched to them too, and their service has been great. They have been very flexible, and they will help you when you need it. Steve, my contact person also, is very good. We had a small problem with email spam, and he worked with me to find and solve the problem.

I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a good stable host for UBB's.

On a side note, since I switched to DP, my site pager has paged me fewer times since I switch than it did with my old host in a month. (I use SiteMonNak to page me if the site goes down, and I rarely get paged now. I used to get paged almost nightly)

I'm still there too, and still happy. I decided to stay with UBB because of the excellent support there. I get worried sometimes when other people are being booted from their virtual servers but I know that Digital Princeton will take good care of us.
