Original announcement here at Infopop Community.

Version 6.4 beta release 1 has been released to the Member Area
UBB.threads™ 6.4 beta release 1 is a test version that adds many popular new features, including these highlights:

Added a new calendar system that can be used for showing public/private events and birthdays.
Added in the ability to delete a group that is no longer needed.
Added in an option when viewing a user's profile to ignore a user.
Added a new option to allow users to select from a predefined set of avatars for their picture.
Added an option when creating/editing a forum to select an image to be displayed next to the forum on the main page.
Moved all thread management tools out of the edit post screen and down to the bottom of showflat/showthreaded.
More work on efficiency. Added a configurable caching system to cache some things that don't change that often.
Polls are entirely rewritten. Polls now can have multiple questions, a start and end time, and other options.

For more details don't forget to read Rick's entire changelog located here. There is a lot to read.

This release is beta code. As with any beta code, it may be unstable. You should not run this beta in a production environment unless you understand the risks involved. Returning to a prior release may prove difficult!

will be birthdaycron.php (from the birthday 1.5 hack) work with the new calendar system ? Is the calendarsystem compatible with birthday hack 1.5 ?

Will IIP 5.3.1 by David Lozier work with 6.4 ?

Oh man.. public beta already

I'm so excited.. but I better start planning now so that in a month or so when it goes final I can upgrade without too many problems. I have sooo many hacks to re-do
Posted By: JoshPet Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/05/2003 5:43 PM
You won't need the current birthday hack, although the data will not be compatible. I'm going to be doing a conversion script which will convert currently stored birthdays to the new format. (And probably an updated birthday cron as well. )

THAT sounds very good ! I hold my fingers and wait for final and I hope you will find time until the final is released. Great work, thank you.

/edit: Please take a look at the polls too It would be very nice to keep them

Any ideas if YASM will intergrate easily? With 6.3 part of YASM didn't work properly (display latest post of a thread).
Posted By: Allusivekudos Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/07/2003 1:07 AM
I beileve it works, I created a mod to do active topics, and that works correctly -it utilized the YASM mod.
Posted By: JoshPet Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/07/2003 6:06 AM
yeah, I'm not sure if the YASM ever got properly updated. It didn't seem to allow searching by username correctly.

I know it doesn't work quite right here.
But the preview of the search results is included in 6.4 - so I doubt there will be any further development to it.

Is it not possible to edit or delete a calendar event?

Since I don't see a way to easily edit or delete, I won't experiment, but rather ask, does UBBCode work in a calendar event Comment?
Posted By: Ortiz Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/08/2003 6:08 PM
Not sure if this what you're lookin for or not (it seems so obvious to me )

View the event on the calendar. Next to "Event" is an icon that you can edit it. To delete, click on the edit icon and there is an option to delete it there.

(never mind, Ortiz answered the question )

Ahhh. I didn't know that was a clickable icon. I just thought it was there for looks.

Looks like you gotta scim through every month all the way through 2012
Posted By: AKD96 Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/08/2003 7:45 PM
Scim?
Posted By: slayer60 Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/08/2003 8:10 PM
I think that is suppose to be skim.

Reason has an extra n in the ban user option from the admin menu on 6.4 beta.
Posted By: msula Re: 6.4 Beta 1 Released - 10/11/2003 2:25 PM
I think that extra n in Reason has been there since 6.0

As well as the word, "userr".
