UBB.threads 6.4.2 has been released to the Member Area.

What's new in 6.4.2? Version 6.4.2 contains some small bug fixes for problems discovered since 6.4.1. Again this is a small release, and easy to do. No altertables to run this time, just the files listed in CHANGEDFILES.txt, (see below) and as always, admin/editconfig.php

Here are the changes:

Fixed a bug that was preventing sticky posts from being shown when not viewing all topics in a forum.
Fixed the bug that was preventing the dobecomeuser script from functioning
Fixed a variety of security problems in various scripts. Thanks to Joshtek for finding them.
Fixed a problem that effected users' ability to see poll results.

Other news:
Version 6.5 is moving along nicely and soon to be ready for release to the Member Area as beta.

The following files have been changed from 6.4.1

addfav.php
addpost_newpoll.php
addpost.php
categories.php
changebasic.php
domarkallread.php
editevent.php
mess_reply.php
modifypost.php
postlist.php
showflat.php
showmembers.php
showthreaded.php
togglecats.php
ubbt.inc.php
viewmessage.php
viewpoll.php

admin/availablelangs.php

templates/default/postlist.tmpl

Also, remember to always upload admin/editconfig, it contains the version number.

Also upload a new copy of dosearch.php - which has been changed but is missing from the changed file list.

6.3 to 6.4 is a total conversion operation isn't it?

I don't think I follow the question. To upgrade to 6.4 series from 6.3 I think pretty much every file is changed. Check the Upgrading.html file though to be sure.

FYI: I am having these complaints from my users:

[]Can you set it to go to the first unread post in a thread when you click on the link? It used to, now it jsut goes to the first post no matter what, unless I am missing something. I know I can click on the last poster's name to go to the last, but.. I liked the first unread post better.... [/]

That's a new bug in 6.4.2 - simple fix posted in the bugs forum here.

Have they updated 6.4.2 to fix that bug? I'm thinking about upgrading from 6.4. Is it even worth my time?

No 6.4.2 doesn't get changed without the version number changing - so it may wait til next time.

Josh,

I'm wondering if it is possible just to integrate the relevant upgraded file(s) that takes care of this one item:

Fixed the bug that was preventing the dobecomeuser script from functioning.

If so, which file(s) would I need to replace?

There are some other issues fixed in 6.4.2, including a few that are related to security. You should be sure to integrate all of the fixes. BeyondCompare is your friend.

Thanks, but no thanks! I am only interested in this one particular fix at this time as I am anticipating upgrading to 6.5 when it goes public. Too many hacks involved with all the changed files in 6.4.2.

So, can I assume that it is not possible to simply change the relevant file(s) that fix the "become this user" bug?
