I know we have a lot more people out there with a willingness to join in the fight. PLUS phpbb has a team that's still ahead of us, and iB is kicking our butts handily right now...:D

I could never get it to work when I tried it like a month ago. So I'll just keep searching for aliens I guess (Seti@Home).
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/14/2001 1:01 AM
Hey Neal.. they've upgraded the program a good bit since then...:)

Somebody named Asgoroth is still in the lead, with cal second, tho I think that'll be changing soon...:)

Allen, just how many machines are your unning the UD program on? smile

Oh yeah.. I am mostly a lurker. I run a small UBB at Rough Rangers Off-Road Club . I have gotten so much from this site, I figured I would help in a way that I could. Seeing as I can't program much of anything, I am not much help in that area.. smile

Well I'm running it with two machines smile Does it go faster with a better machine? Becuase the one I'm running it with is a 1 ghz.

*Edit*

I guess it does, it does 1 % every minute. This other (slow) computer does 1 % every 5 minutes frown

Welcome Asgoroth! smile I have it on 3 machines right now... a couple others too, but they deliver a result about once every 3 days or so, so they don't count smile

Welcome Elwinz, soma0 and Badger, glad you are on the team.... processor speed does make a difference, but the slower machines do get more points for each result turned in, so they are all good, plus it helps in developing possible cures for cancer. Wouldn't it be great if your pc returned the result? laugh

All of them make a difference...
Posted By: Asgoroth Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/19/2001 1:34 AM
I just asked because you were putting up a good number of results, fast.. Had to add a couple more machines too keep ahead.. smile

smile

Results are back to zero!

umm.. no they aren't! They are rebuilding the database starting from ~ a month ago. laugh

Deb's in the lead with 3 and cal's close on her heels with 1! laugh
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/21/2001 6:16 AM
cal streaks ahead into the lead with 10! Deb is close behind with 9, but can she keep cal in sight?

Stay tuned!
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/21/2001 6:46 AM
cal is maintaining his lead.. widening it over Deb as the weekend starts... Allen finally gets his act together and shows up, with newcomer Asgoroth jumping into 4th place his first day..eek
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/21/2001 8:36 AM
baahh.. I even bored myself..:D

Asgoroth is kickin tail and we are now up to 23 ubbdev members taking part, cool With almost 600 results returned, it seems we are picking up the pace... go team! smile

Ive signed up on the team :D, i think il run it on 4pcs smile
Posted By: JonNJapan Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/29/2001 12:50 PM
What do you do to earn points? shocked shocked shocked
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/29/2001 5:34 PM
Hyabusa - welcome! That'd be excellent smile

iNtErNeT aDdIcT - you earn points by returning results. The slower pc's earn more points per each result returned, but the faster pc's return a good bit more results in the same time. smile

We went over 1000 results returned last night laugh
Posted By: Animeman-dbz Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/30/2001 12:08 AM
I joined, I own UltimateDBZ.com and Dragonball100.com ... I might post about this on my site and ask that the fans join your UBBDev's team ... I get 5000 unique visitors a day for UltimateDBZ.com, and 15000 for Dragonball100 (which is down right now).
Posted By: Animeman-dbz Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/30/2001 12:12 AM
How do you find out how many results you returned? I've had this on for 10 minutes and I haven't gotten any points nor did the "TOTAL CPU TIME" go up any at all. But, the "Task CPU Time" is gaining since the beginning (when I first ran the program), and the "Task Execution Process" is going up about a percent every 3 minutes, why is it so slow? My processor is decent (650mhz).
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 06/30/2001 12:34 AM
The results are updated on the team page once daily ~8pm CST time.

Once you return your first result, it updates on your individual page immediately. A really fast machine probably returns a result every 3 hours or so, slower pc's can be much slower, depends on speed. smile

Oh, and welcome smile We'd be happy for your members to join us smile

Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Join Team UBBDev - 07/12/2001 6:41 PM
Only if they develop a client for Macs, I am not sure if they plan to... it states on their site what they develop for.

Update: >1600 results returned so far! laugh

Mewtwo: I was able to log on this evening from home. Try it, you may succeed too.

Yes, It worked! I'm on my way to join the Team!

You have to register once, through the client, and then you can use the same account on more computers.

hmmm...... worked fine. did about 50% in two hours. But then, I don't know why, it became real slow...
