When I was in the test phase of my UBB site, I set up on netfirms.com. They are running a Unix Apachie server with full cgi support. UBB seems to run real happy on the Apachie server, When I first got my own domain, they were running Microsoft-IIS/4.0 Server and Windows NT OS. Had a lot more startup problems with IIS/4.0 sever than Apachie.

Netfirms is free and has 35mb avalable. You will at some point have to archive off site to keep from filling it up though. That is why I ended up getting my own domain, they are not that exsensive. My provider is a site sponsor, so it is free for us, but there pro gold account, for example would cost 34.95 a month with ISP access. Came with 300mb storage, unlimited email, CGI, real server support and on and on, Sound like a 1st Net salesman huh?

I would not like the Idea of moving a UBB to a new sight, All the HTML tags for the posts would be using the url's from the site it moved from. Sure a script could be written easy enough to replace the HTML tags, but just a pain in the butt is all. There is a lot to consider when you set up a UBB board. Is it worth movin the thing when you have 500 members and 5000 posts just to save a few bucks a month on startup? Not to me.....[Linked Image]

Just my 2 cents worth...
