Almost every modern webhost will support PHP/MySQL, that is a fairly standard requirement. As far as free UBB boards, well you can't because UBB is not a free software package. There are other message boards available like phpBB that are free for download though.

You can purchase and download threads at www.ubbcentral.com.

I would reccomend Vertexhost:
http://www.vertexhost.com
Not only can you install phpBB from the control panel (it's listed under Install Bb), there is also an option to install InvisionBoard, which also looks really nice (it's hidden in Script Libraries). BTW, speaking about InvisionBoard, did it used to be free but not anymore? Because it's listed as free @ Hotscripts.com, and it's in my control panel (version 1.3), but their site is plugging version 2.0 and it is certainly not free. Maybe they've changed their licensing agreements. But once again, I reccomend Vertexhost because the control panel can install two very good bb programs for you. If you need more, go to:

I have a hosting client (which is now on vertex) which now uses Invision. It's very nice. It is free - but they have "paid" versions which come with support etc.....

They call it a free trial - but it's pretty much fully functional:
[]You are about to download the free trial version of Invision Power Board. Although this version is fully functional you must understand the limits of the free trial offer:

* Absolutely no technical support, including installation assistance, is provided for the free trial download. Technical support is provided for those purchasing the software by email, live chat, and telephone 365 days a year.

* Your forum, although perfectly functional, will display a small notice at the bottom of the page that it is a free trial download.

* Certain advanced features of the software (subscriptions manager, spell checker, chat service, etc.) may not be available in the free trial option as these require additional modules to operate that are only available to licence holders.

* You can purchase a license to Invision Power Board at any time to download addons and request support and the upgrade from the free trial version is quick and easy. [/]

But I think they are trying to ease away from the free model and get people to pay for it.

Threads is a better value in my opinion. I'll have to consider if I want to do free new threads installs to hosting customers. Might be better than seeing them go to PHPbb or Invision.

Is it free?

You can purchase and download ubbthreads at www.ubbcentral.com.

Free? No - UBB.Threads is a professional product. It costs $229.

There is a free trial/demo available.

Josh, maybe that's not a bad idea, including Threads w/some hosting plans. You would own the licenses and charge a premium. Not that I need it I've got too many licenses anyways. It would be like Infopop w/ their hosting. Clearly their plans don't even compare to Vertexhost's, but the premium is for the BB

Well stealing software is illegal.

Are you familiar with piracy laws?

Civil action against piracy can reward the copyright holder with as much as $150,000 for each illegal copy, plus there can be criminal charges as well, resulting in a $250,000 fine or jail for 5 years... or both.

Please review our Rules. Asking for illegal copies of things will get you in trouble.

Sorry ash but good programs get coded by Humans not elves.. so actual, people put their hard eaerned time and energy into writing a good program and deserve to be paid for their time. There are ones out there that are ok but nothing is as good as a paid for program. you should try phpbb.

I don't know - but you're asking this at a UBB.Threads developer site - so we're only going to discuss UBB.Threads related items here.

Well - this is an infopop affiliated site and I make my living off doing UBB.Threads work - we don't have any reason or need to promote competitors.

That's like calling Ford and asking them to tell you about all the different Chevys.

There are no substitutes for great software.
