hello Rolex

delete the file then rebuild all stats that should do the trick

also you might consider upgrading since later versions include fixes to stop this from happening.

rebuild forum stats after deleting that file... you can choose that forum specifically

"Rebuild Forum Stat Files" - ending by error!
My Forum including 2500 threads (files).
I have deleted 2000 *.cgi files - the rebuilding process was an immediate success.
But how I can do it with 2500 files?

Rebuild forum stats in 6.03 doesn't rebuild the .threads file. After rebuilding the stats, delete the .threads file, then visit the forum via the frontend. It will take a while to build, but it should work.

After that's fixed up, upgrade to a more modern version... 6.03 is a year and a half old.

"... visit the forum via the frontend"
I don't understand. eek
Posted By: Charles Capps Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 02/21/2003 8:08 PM
Frontend. Like, ultimatebb.cgi.
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 02/28/2003 6:22 PM
Does not help - the file is not restored
Posted By: Charles Capps Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 02/28/2003 8:22 PM
Then you're in it deep - the frontend should rebuild the .threads file when you visit the forum.

The only thing I could advise at this point is moving up to the latest release...
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/03/2003 9:22 AM
I completely agree, that it is necessary to move to the last release, but it will be restored a threads-file at upgrade?

Excuse me for my English. smile
Posted By: Charles Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/03/2003 9:26 AM
the latest version will rebuild the thread file when you rebuild the stat files thru the CP.

This should solve your problem (make sure you delete the 0 sized file beforehand by FTP)

Thank, I shall try.
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/03/2003 3:10 PM
6.2.1 release does not build a thread file too.
Posted By: Charles Capps Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/03/2003 7:33 PM
The rebuild forum stat files function in 6.1.0 and higher rebuilds the .threads file....

I find it very odd that you would upgrade to a version that has not been available for download for nearly a year now.
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/04/2003 3:13 PM
To put 6.5 it is necessary to put all over again 6.2
Posted By: Charles Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/05/2003 3:08 AM
you mean go back to 6.2 from 6.2.1? This is not necessary since 6.5 can be used to upgrade any 6.x serie board. Just do an Upgrade as you would ordinarly and press the upgrade button in CP
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/05/2003 8:59 AM
I so tried too.
The matter is that process of upgrading from CP.cgi does not come to an end successfully - browser simply stops on empty page.
Posted By: Charles Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/06/2003 8:04 AM
when you mean empty its a blank (white) page ?
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/06/2003 9:03 AM
Yes, even without progress bar.
Posted By: Charles Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/06/2003 9:23 AM
ok if you really have a white page (no text, image or anything) that means your server is timing out the operation before it ends. you might be able to fix this by modifying the value of threads opened at once but I can't tell you right now how to do it since I don't have the files on this pc.

CC would you know by heart where to look?
Posted By: Rolex2003 Re: file forum_1.threads (size=0) - 03/06/2003 4:13 PM
But time of calculation should be final!

"CC" - what this?
