I'm looking for a chat(not for ubb)
With the possibilities to:

have different chats(for different topics)
create private rooms(or private talking)
not bogging down the server
NO refresh
and free[Linked Image]

Maybe with a java applet.
How else are you going to do it without refreshing? [Linked Image]

What I'm looking for is a chat like this
http://chatta.aftonbladet.se/existens/chat

But maybe with a nicer layout!

If your server supports C++ and/or PHP, one of those types of chats would be better for you. Java might do the trick as well.

One of the better chat interfaces I've ever seen for a webpage was the system used by www.theglobe.com

Their system allows those who can, to use autoscroll java chat, where posts constantly scroll upwards, those who can't, to use frames which automatically refreshes after a set period of time, and those who STILL can't, to use regular noframes html, and hit refresh.
ALL of which were in the same chatroom, regardless of interface. I was pretty impressed with that personally, although how they coded it is totally beyond me.

Still, worth taking a look at, if you want ideas..
