There's an article (not programming language specific) over on phpbuilder that is an introduction to the fundamentals of design Internet Applications.

Anyone just venturing out in this arena would benefit from reading this. It's only a quick overview of some ideas, but these are key ideas that people need to know before jumping in. I hope he continues on with a series of these articles.
