Hiya,,a while ago my webhost turned on Mod_Perl to try and ease the load my 6.04 UBB board was having on his servers. Since then there have been a few odd problems, most of which I have managed to sort out. For instance, PMs refused to deliver and my memberlist wouldn't allow itself to be searched through.

I fixed most of the problems by chmoding the relevant directories to 777, but there is one problem I haven't been able to fix and I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I have guest posting turned on on my board, but now when someone tries to post this way on there, after they have put their guest name in and posted the message the FYI screen comes up and says "Sorry, we have no one registered with that name. Use your browser's back button to try again."

I don't know how to fix this,,does anyone have any ideas?

UBB won't run under mod_perl - there are deep architectural issues that would require a rewrite to fix. Even then, the benefits wouldn't be enough to put a major dent in performance problems.

(You can't just slap any old Perl app under mod_perl and expect it to work - unfortunately we assumed that early on... )

Ahh ok. Now I think about it, I think he may have turned the mod_perl thing off again, but these problems persist. So can you think of anything that would need fixed because of this?! I'm afraid I know nothing about it.

Once it's out of mod_perl, it should work fine.
