My question is simple the solution probably even more simple.

Where, my profile|directory|search|faq.....etc are which file must i edit to get those bar things (|) out.

Also, if i want to take all of the links out and the title and put the links say in the header can i delete them. And just use html to link to the appropriate pages?

Hello, the file that the main buttons line is located in is public_common.pl.

If you like, you can take that part out and just add it as HTML to your header without a problem. The only thing it will affect is the search link, but it is nothing at all to worry about because it takes you to the main search page anyway.

One more newb question. The buttons like up above the post, profile, homepage email pm edit post etc. Which files might that be in?

The variables are defined in ubb_lib_posting.cgi I believe, the overall template file is public_topic_page.pl
