I really like how the shoutbox is implemented on this site.

Can someone tell me what method is used to call it and also what the settings are to eliminate the borders and unnecessary spacing?

Thanks!

I need some help with this.

www.manhattanreefs.com

The shoutbox is great! But right now I am running it via jscript in a frame and when you submit a shout it updates the whole frame. I would do it in an iframe within the frame, but no matter what I do I cannot get the horizontal and vertical spacing to be zero, I need to fit it smoothly into the menu.

Please let me know if you have any ideas. I will switch to iframes if someone can tell me how to get the spacing right.

Thanks everyone!

Check the source here, should be helpful. If you don't find it helpful, post again smile

I tried that in IE and for some reason it wouldn't display, I assumed that there was one of those source blocking apps in the code. I tried it just now in Firefox and was able to view it, must be a problem with my version of IE.

I'll review the code and see if I have any other questions.

Thanks,
Josh

I got it to work with iframes and the layout looks great.

This is a great hack, I think my users will really enjoy it.

Thanks again!

I'm not even sure how to put the html or iframe code somewhere, I have dreamweaver, I'm html literate, but adding it to the side of the board is baffling me.
