Does Classic use CSS? - UBB.Developers

I jumped ship to UBB Threads a while back and I'm curious to see how the other half scripts

Does Classic use CSS yet?

no not yet, maybe in a few versions. Tho ubbdev has been using css for quite some time and many hacked board do the same

Yes, I know. Take a look at my site. If you are a registered user you can change the style sheet that you use, and when you do all the colors and graphics change

I love CSS

, its features are quite grand, you can do everything from setting border width to colours, its quite nice

The JC templates use CSS on ubb.classic...

lol...and even someone like me can learn CSS

I should probably qualify this since his templates aren't well recieved here. He has taken the time ti add CSS and get rid of the font tags. He also made other improvements in the templates that open minded people would appreciate having taken the time to view them.

I've heard the comments about people wanting to hack the look of the original templates to make them their own design rather than hacking his but the original templates are an Infopop developers design. Why would starting with JC's CSS enable templates be any less original? If you modify the originals or you modify JC's your still modifying someone elses work.

JC's templates have improved tremendously over the last year or so - there are some cases I'd use them now. His threads' styles really look good. JC himself can rub people the wrong way, but even that has improved over time

Other than that, I wrote what I think is the first xhtml'd/css'd template set ever for ubb, well ahead of JCT's

Or were you waiting for us to announce the winner of the template design contest first?

heheh.. I provided a link to them in that thread

LK plans to release them as part of mystyle I believe

hopefully css will become a core part of an upcoming release

I'd love to see it incorporated

Allen, you outta get together with some of the folks here (I'll volunteer) and come up with a template/hack kit to rock the UBB planet. There is so much talent here that we should use it.

Actually, I've been working on this for rather a long time, but the only difference is that I linked it with a Perl style rotator. The alarming thing is that I seem to be making some progress with it...

I've been working on 6.5, getting the public files css'd, I should be through by tomorrow night and will post them then

well, I'da posted them but forgot to bring them with me outta town. I'll get them up probably thursday evening, then we can begin the fun stuff
