Why am I getting a javascript error when I try to select one of the Avatar in the list? Here's the url:
http://www.collegeclique.com/cgi-bin/ubb/avatarlist.cgi
Why can't you post in the right forum? Would one of the moderators move this.

I realize that you're new here. But please try to read the forum descriptions and post things in the appropriate forum.
And that address returned a 404 error.
Moved to Mod Questions. Please post in the correct forum next time.

I have the same problem too--getting an error when trying to select one of the Avatars in the list. The error message was something like:
"opener.document is not an object."
avatarlist.cgi
line:75
In addition, I coudn't view the next page when I clicked the page number, which is linked as "javascript:changepage(2)". Actually, I'm more concerned about this issue.
Any help would be great. Thank you.
I have the same problem as Texuco...the correct url is
http://www.highschoolclique.com/cgi-bin/avatarlist.cgi
i had same problem and fixed it, i dont even know how.
Should I edit the javascript or leave it as it is...I still figure out how to correct the problem.
i had the problem, and it's not the script.. i dunno how i fixed it but i didnt edit the script
i got the same error too! i thought i fixed it!

i am using AOL which is IE 5... so... like i dont think we're messing up here... got a answer Qasic?
Avatarlist is meant to be called from profile settings (when you edit your profile). If you don't do this and instead, go to avatarlist directly AND CLICK an avatar, you should generate an error. Otherwise, no such error should appear.
q
I didn't call the url directly. But when you try to register and click on link to pick the avatar, and then click on one of the avatar, the error occurs. Try and register at the board at
http://www.highschoolclique.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi and you'll know what I mean. Thanks.
Sorry, the link to the board is this:
HighSchoolClique.com
No problems for me on IE 6.0 beta preview.
q
Do you think refreshing the browser and cleaning the cache has to do anything with it? Thanks.
no , my ubb i temporarily on no cache and i got it
It didn't work why I tried with netscape.

Thanks for the reply, qasic.
Well, I didn't call the url directly either. My browser is IE5. and still got the error message.
i went there to, no error, but i know what you mean. the error occured for me the first time. and i did some junk and it worked. then my staff reported the avatar had a error pop up.but idunno. something suspicious is happeing
Sushiman, does it work on Netscape though?
I just checked collegeclique.com and had the same problem. Seems we are sharing something...
Qasic, have any idea why all of us here have this problem?
I can not confirm this behavior when registering on IE6 2465a
is it browser compatibility problem, but not a problem of scripts? should we assume that it never works with IE5 ?
some how...i dunno know.. my browser didnt work with it..but now it does..
MasterMind, try any version of the netscape browser, and you'll know what I'm talking about.
I also cannot confirm this error for IE 5.5 on Win2K SP1.
For me, Netscape 4.76 only stalls (there's no error displayed). I'll add Netscape browser detection in.

When will you add the netscape detection tool? Just wondering, thanks.
The sooner the better.
so do we have an answer for the error that pops up when you choose an avatar?
I upgraded my browser to IE 5.5 and this
resolved the javascript error when
selecting one of avatars in the list.
HOWEVER, I got no response from my server
when I clicked the link to the next page,
such as "2" or "3", in the avatar list.
It's linked as javascript.changepage
something.
Temporarily, I list all the avatars on
the same page, which eats a lot of
bandwidth. I installed IE 6.0 but it didn't
resolve this chagepage issue. Any thoughts?
New Avatar Hack uploaded. Basically it checks if browser is Netscape. If it IS Netscape, then Javascript is disabled thus preventing the error and reverting the script back to its original purpose - to list avatars; no more, no less.
qasic
which files were updated? so i know which ones to reupload.
Only upload the new avatarlist.cgi.
q
does file fix the new pop up error bug?
Sushi: Try it and LMK.
