by larryd

I want to change that to include a link to the actual last post? Ive looked around but I cant find the hack.. can anyone help me out??

It's in the readme. You can either have it link to the thread or last poster.

i installed it ages ago though..i dont have the readme anymore..

also your gonna love this other problem i have.. I tried upgrading from UBB5 to UBB6 and everything went fine but the forum was running like a slug.. I tried everything I could think of and nothing worked so I decided to ditch 6 and go back to 5.. bad idea.. in the process i lost alot of things including I corrupted alot of my member files..what happened was when I upped to 6 it added the visual name field and some people changed that information before I was able to go back to ubb5.. now when I do anything on there account it says hack attempt logged.. this is a bad bad problem cuz I have a feeling Im gonna lose my member database of my 5000 users.. this is REALLY bad.. can anyone here PLEASE help me..

You can't degrade from 6 to 5 because ALL your Member files need to be re-wroten to v5 style.

Anyway, get the readme for last poster in the Database.

actually i fiugred out how to fix the member files.. the only ones changed were those who tried to change there publically displayed names..so I can get there listing from memberlist.cgi and then edit it and FTP it back up..

as for this readme file.. Im sorry im clueless..what database am i lookin in??

The UBBdev database. There is a Database link at the top of the page click that and go into the V5 Database.

dude i know I must sound like an idiot but I cant figure this out..

the file doesnt have a readme and the discussion thread is gone.. the actual hack itself says nothing about making it so it shows last post and last poster

there is a thread on this and the same ? i asked was asked like 4x and no one ever gave an answer.. so could someone please explain to me how to make UBB5 show last post / last post by both together??

Go to http://spawn.piratecove.org/ubbmods if you can't find the Hack in the Database.

I have tried using that mod listed in the database and it worked for the most part but the problem is it lists the last post in the forum name column where I want it in the last post column.. I did a little fudging and got it where it needs to be but the problem Im having is this..

the last post for forum1 is showing as blank, the last post for forum2 is showing as forum3's last post, the last post for forum3 is showins as forum4's last post..you get the point..so anyhow Im looking for anyhelp I could possibly get.. Im going to post my Ultimate.cgi here to see if anyone can PLEASE help me smile

ps.. sorry for being a pain..

Are you talking about last poster in Forum display or last poster in Ultimate.cgi pkus a URL to your UBB might be helpful...

You told me you fixed the prob. Where was the problem?
Posted By: larrydougherty Re: last post + by who + time/date - 09/03/2001 8:20 PM
the sub the included the last post routine was being called after the first call to &LastThread $LastPostBy so it didnt know what it was and obviously didnt fill it in, so it was one off on everything.. I created a new sub just for the last post and call it before the first run and it fixed that problem..

Ok, anyway did you get the last post in Ultimate.cgi to link to the last post?
Posted By: larrydougherty Re: last post + by who + time/date - 09/05/2001 8:35 AM
yup..

Thats good, I remember asking on SpAwN's for a long time ago so if the forum was up I would have reffered to that.

you can use a tool like advanced search and replace to repair your member files...
