Thats b/c you either don't have mod wordlets installed or you don't have vars avatars.cgi uploaded and chmoded correctly.

all my avatar wordlets are in french. i read the install file (faq) but i dont understand what to do.

Mine were in French too, I just deleted the french wording and put my own.

how do i do that?

change the wordlets in your avatars settings in the cp
