Script: Rule Hack v0.2

Description: What it does is add a new link where the faq, search, register, etc, links are. It also integrates a new template and section to the ubb code (ie: ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=rule). For the most part, it lets you easily have some rules on your forums and whenever some guy misbehaves you can just point up to the link and say, "read the rules bud". There are more wordlets in v0.2.

It works just like the faq. It caches the rule page for faster loading and you can clear it from the cache just like anything else. You can also set its style in the Style Templates area of the cp.

Enjoy, and always remember, backup them files.

One other thing, u may want to change the rules that are in the template (public_rule.pl) when you install this, because these are just the rules I use on my forums. Your board may be different and you may not have users who act like morons like I do.

Has anyone checked out the code since 8.4 was released?

It did work with the other build before I upgraded.

Now I'm getting an error:

Error including required files: Make sure these files exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

I have v0.2 done that is compatible with beta 8.4. I will uploaded it and post it when I return home from school in an hour or so.

did anyone make a button for the rule link that goes with the cosmetics hack? i have that installed and all the links at the top of my board are graphics, not text, so if anyone has made a graphic for their rules link, preferably with that blue gradient, could they post it, or point me in the direction of where its located

yeah, personally I think its the little hacks like this that really make a difference. This won't work at on BB at the moment as it is so small, no real need for it. But... Add up all the little things and you have a nice rounded setup. Good job. =)

You should add an option to add a bunch of them like a forum ya know? That would be great and make it alot easier to add those kind of things So you could keep creating them and have the option to delete, modify, etc .

I got the rule out of my board by going to the wordlets, taking out the ------ and inserting (just so there is something in the space that doesn't show up)

man i really want this hack

i found some coding problems when i installed it on my ubb running version 6.01 the problems were in ubb_lib_misc it was a very simple porblem ad i fixed it my self. Were it is supposed to pull the template to use for the rule page that was code wrong.
