You can enable the following from the CP
1-Enable the recycle bin

Enabling for editing is when a user, modulator, or admin change some thing in his post
Enable for deletion is when a user, modulator, or admin delete a post

When a user edits a post or topic the first post in a topic that will appear in the recycle bin will look like this
000001

hi wwb smile

works fine tested it on my Board

one addition would be nice

you could implement the modlog feature from qasic because these two hacks are placed in the same files you need to edit smile

the change need to be in ubb_topic_maint.cgi

bulbi
Thank you very much for this addition. Yes it also work fine in my board for along time now.
By using this hack I do not think it is important to change what you done you could ignore it since it will show you how has modify or delete a post in the recycle bin., but if you want to have a record you thankfully don the require changes.
Thanks again bulbi

Yeah please make that one...
Posted By: wwb95 Re: [6.2x] Recycle bin - 04/06/2002 1:56 PM
eXtremeTim & Consolefreak
I have checked the 6.2.1.1 and none of the code need to be upgrade so I think it will work fine with 6.2.1.1
Posted By: LK Re: [6.2x] Recycle bin - 04/06/2002 2:14 PM
I think Console and Tim meant upgrade instructions from v1 of this hack to v2.

Thanks Lk
The upgrade file is in this

Going to back up here, if anyone read my previous post, forget it. wink

I had thought I managed to correct the following error:

Error
An error has occured:

C:/webs/softest/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ubb_topic_maint.cgi: Unmatched right curly bracket at C:/webs/softest/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ubb_topic_maint.cgi line 281, at end of line
syntax error at C:/webs/softest/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ubb_topic_maint.cgi line 281, near "}"
Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you!

So, I went in and removed the extra }, and then it all appeared to work, of course then I started getting this error when I deleted a post:

Error
An error has occured:

Tried to open zero-sized topic 000002 in forum 7. at C:/webs/forum/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ubb_lib_files.cgi line 757.
Please inform the board administration of this error so that they may fix the problem. Thank you!

BUT, it does delete the post and move it to the recycle bin... I'm kind of stumped here...

Looking for ideas, anyone? smile

Thanks,

~Z

Lil help? Anyone? Is this one just me? I rehacked the works over again, still get the message telling me there's an unmatched } and just can't seem to fix it... because when I do I get the other strange error. frown

Check cp_lib.cgi

......
#################
#######Look for:#
#################
$vars_misc{use_cache} = 'yes';

#######Under that add:
$vars_misc{recycle} = '1';
$vars_misc{recycle_move} = 'no';
$vars_misc{recycle_close} = 'no';
$vars_misc{recycle_topic} = 'yes';
$vars_misc{recycle_replay} = 'yes';
$vars_misc{recycle_edit} = 'no';

..................

the line you may have edited in correctly was...

if ($vars_misc{use_cache} eq '') { $vars_misc{use_cache} = 'yes'; }

with a "}" at the end

sumting wong, no ?

Sorry for bumping an old topic, but I tried everything to get this to work with 6.3 and the error I got was a blank page when trying to edit a post.

I would love to see this work on 6.3

I'm going to try and fix this up. I tried a few things yesterday but still the edit wouldn't work.

Is there a version for sticky in that zip?
Posted By: Tardeaux Re: [6.2x] Recycle bin - 08/23/2002 7:02 PM
Is it just me?
I get a "forbidden" error when trying to download the zip file for the sticky and regular versions.

If possible, please repost a fresh link, since i'm sure it's not a problem with me or my ISP since i've tried in both at home (AT&T Broadband) and at work (DirecPC/T1) and get the same results.
