Just so everyone knows. I fixed the zip file. When downloading you wouldn't get anything in the file. But I fixed that.
Thanks. Tell me how it works out.
You dont take compliements well from me, do you, Rob? I said nice job, because it IS a nice job, like alot of hacks.
Sorry man. I am weird I guess? I don't know. I just thought because of the ... 3 periods AHH!! I don't know I am tired and today has been a bad day.. Sorry.
Hi Everyone.. My site just got into big trouble because one of my staff members tried to upload stuff that was too big. I have no idea how long it will be down but when it gets back up I will let you know. Sorry for the inconvience...
The site is back up. Sorry for the inconvience...
This is a great hack - we are currently running it on our 6.04 UBB, and it is used quite a bit.
A feature request that I had previously posted: how about adding a "# of votes:" field right underneath the star rating (or next to it) for each topic? It would help further quantify the rating of a post. For example, some posts may be rated as 5 stars, but by just 1 user, but a 4 star rating by 40 members would be far more important.
Anyone else think this would be worthwhile?
I think I´ve found 2 errors in your readme.txt
first in public_topic_page.pl
in ultimatebb.cgi
- foreach my $file (qw(rate
must be - foreach my $file (qw(wordlets_rate

Fixing both errors. I don't think it matters for the second one tho.
NOTICE: THIS HAS NOT BEEN TESTED ON THE NEWEST PUBLIC BETA.I don't plan on updating it till the final version of 6.1 is out.
When you do can you also give it the ability to RATE FORUMS, but only the ones you select.

I actually I have tried this, but failed miserably. Someone else is welcome to try.
Hi,
Never mind, I found my problems. Sorry for the post.
Rainner
I'm installing the Hack and have run into a couple of issues......
When I corrected the misspelling of "hidden", the "rate topic" window disappeared!!!! It was displayed BEFORE changing the spelling. Any idea why that would be?
Next to the "rate topic" window at the bottom of the page there is a drop down menu where a star is selected. When I click on the down down, it's blank....no indicators at all. Moving the mouse down the menu and selecting something.....the stars DO show up. Can anyone help me figure out why there's no indicator in the drop down.
Any assistance would be most appreciated

UPDATE:....I corrected the wordlets_rate error and that seems to have fixed it!
panda.. how did u correct this? i have the same problem =(
Yo, I installed the hack too. It workes perfectly except for one thing: wordlets
. I installed whit these by myself, but the wordlet's still don't show up on the forums.
i'm trying to install the "Rate Topic" hack for 6.1.x and everything is fine except one detail. the .txt says to add: foreach my $file (qw(rate after: foreach my $file (qw(, with a space.
the only thing is that i have the "Chat" hack installed which already has something after that. this is what my "ultimatebb.cgi" code looks like:
# No need to touch this now that we have the VariablesPath!
foreach my $file (qw(chat display misc email time search pm registration template_match whos_online wordlets wordlets_err wordlets_img wordlets_date wordlets_polls wordlets_calendar wordlets_mods)) {
eval { do "$vars_config{VariablesPath}/vars_$file.cgi"; };
&CheckDollarAt($@);
} # end foreach
so how would i go about adding the: foreach my $file (qw(rate or even foreach my $file (qw(wordlets_rate?? (either one supossedly works)
please help as this is the hack i really want.
thanks...ghost
one more question which is probably easier than the last one and has to do with worlets.
http://www.mvremix.netfirms.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000006 here's a test page, so go to the bottom and look at the "Rate Topic" part. i'm assuming that the stupid box that has the "rate_topic" quote in it is not supossed to be there. how do i get rid of that??
it's funny, because if you change what it says in that box, you can't rate the topic anymore.

I didn't write the hack, but your completed line should read:
foreach my $file (qw(rate chat display misc email time search etc...
just add rate (with a space between each variable) between the ( )'s. the order does not matter. the line could be (qw(chat rate display etc.. or (qw(chat display misc email time rate search etc...
thanks for your help man. now if you could tell me why i have that annoying "rate_topic" wordlet next to the actual "Rate Topic" at the bottom of the topic page. the url in my last post should take you there.
