I donno if you can help .. we were usin' this on our 6.2.1 board and was very much enjoyed .. so when I upgraded our board to 6.3 I installed it but .. darn thing is going .. haywire or something o.O almost everytime you click on a link it changes the style ... and I notice the thing below that tells you what theme you're using isn't there. I've redone the hack twice and I am usin' most recent version of the wordlet_mods. I'm baffled and just can't work out what the problem is. smirk

excelent. a user asked for this so he doesn't have to use a 'cool' style at work - "a more black and white one is less conspicuous". thus he wanted an option.

... and here it is.

thanks laugh

Can it work with JCTemplates?
Posted By: DragonSoul Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 05/30/2002 3:46 AM
Question LK. As you have already seen on my board, i have forums for testing new templates in. I installed this hack but now when a user selects a template for the board, all the forums use this template. Even the ones for testing. Is there a way that i can make certain forums "not" affected by this hack?

Yes, wait for CSS template modification release tipsy

What happened to the good old
"Your current scheme is"
At the footer of the forum summary ..etc..? wink
Posted By: LK Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 05/31/2002 5:43 PM
It's... it's... gone tipsy

Anyhow, I don't think I'll add new features to this hack after posting the CSS scheme modifier...

Another suggestion for if/when you get around to it: Any way to make some templates not selectable?

Is this what will solve the Multi hack problem when it comes up with Errors in Public_Edit_Profile?
And how llong will it be till the CSS template mod gets released? (just so I know if I should start hacking my upgrade board now or wait! laugh )

I was going to ask the same question.

Hi. Is there any way of overriding MyStyle so that users are forced to see a certain template in one forum.
IE. I have a Sci Fi Forum and want users to see the sci fi template for That forum ONLY. any other forum, users can have their chosed template.

Thankyou.
Laura.

Hey LK,

I got this working flawlessly, and I would like to add the feature of showing which style the user has picked in the posts.

Is this possible?

Thanks! smile
Posted By: Travis Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/20/2002 12:58 AM
Ok, I figured out how to do it, however it only shows the Standard Template. The same thing in my profile. If I pick another template (that is not the default one) the Template: does NOT show up in the profile.

Bug?
Posted By: LK Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/20/2002 5:54 AM
That's odd, can you post the code you used?
Posted By: Travis Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/20/2002 7:50 AM
For the post part I took part of the code from public_display_profile.pl

[code][/code]But like I said, it's does this same error in the profile page too. Any ideas?
Posted By: Travis Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/20/2002 10:15 PM
Also note, the default template appears sometime on the home page and forumdisplay page, yet on the forums home it shows the whos online (or pntf) in the style I select.

Im going to try to rehack these files.. for the 4th time and hopefully I fix something.
Posted By: Travis Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/20/2002 10:54 PM
Nope... didn't work. It seems to do it at random as well.

Okay... About PNTF, just rehack ubb_lib.cgi.

In forum summary it doesn't change styles: try to rehack ubb_lib_files.cgi. If you have ever installed chat mod, hit hack, make sure that you removed them from forum summary completely.
Posted By: Travis Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/21/2002 8:11 AM
Ok. I just uninstalled the Hit's Hack, and will be monitoring the forums to see if it's worked!

Do you know what may be causing it so it only shows the Standard Template in the profile page, and not the other ones? If you can solve that, then everything would be perfect!

Thanks.
Posted By: LK Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/21/2002 8:16 AM
No, no idea smirk
Posted By: Travis Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/21/2002 8:25 AM
Oh, that's ok. I was more worried about getting all the pages to work, all the time, more than the profile things.

Maybe I will be able to find out the problem someday.

Thanks for your help! smile

Just out of cerosity was there a hack like this "mystyle" made for 6.05? if so can someone give me a link... or if not what would it take to make it work on 6.05 or would it not be able to work on it.....

I gather by this statement that this doesn't work well in conjunction with either of these hacks installed? frown

Any fix? smile My hit hack doesn't display any longer and while the chat mod works... It isn't displaying the "there are xxx users in the chat..." help

I noticed that both are working on your board LK... Then again, they are your hacks. wink

When I visited your site I couldn't see hit hack and chat mod in forum summary, so if you don't want to show them there, unhack THEIR ubb_forum_summary
Posted By: Zackary Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 06/25/2002 5:34 PM
Sorry LK, I installed this to my test site...

I have chat mod visible on my forum summary on my live board, it's at the top rather than at the bottom and I left hit hack out of the forum summary because, well, didn't make sense for me on my site to have it there. It's visible on all forum pages though.

I just upgraded to 6.3.0.1 and was half asleep when I did the My Style part. I'll try to redo hit hack and chat mods tonight. smile

I just didn't understand why you said in that one reply to remove them both.

In ubb_lib_files.cgi, it says to
Code
[/code]However, I have Quick Reply installed... so this is what I have...

[code]
... in both instances.

So what do you recommend that I do? help
Posted By: LK Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 07/04/2002 8:52 AM
Kel, leave it as 61 smile (if it happens to you in another hack, the higher the better)
Posted By: Kel Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 07/04/2002 3:39 PM
LK, I got impatient last night so I decided to just ignore that part of the hack and act like I didn't see it... tipsy ...Everything works just fine! thumbsup Glad to see that I'm starting to actually learn a thing or two here and can figure something out on my own... laugh Thank you! wink
Posted By: gost95 Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 07/18/2002 12:08 AM
ok...theres' a couple issues that i'm not sure what to do about.

#1 i have the instant message hack installed and replaced the "im" link with a button by going into "public_common.pl" replacing:

Code
[/code]with

[code]
so that it would call the button. the problem is when i change styles it always calls that button. so that button never matches any of the new styles.

i have individual im buttons made up for each style but i don't know how to call them.

what do i do? thanks

I don't think this is working with 6.3.1
Posted By: LK Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 08/19/2002 10:12 AM
gost, use the instructions for cosmetic links, just add IM to each part.

bizkit, which parts don't work?
Posted By: bizkit73 Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 08/19/2002 3:28 PM
I go into my profile, click the dropdown box and click on the new template I would like to use and then update profile. when it sends me back to my profile link, nothing has changed. I surf the board and nothing has changed. I go back to my profile link and the dropdown box where you choose a template says 'none'

I have the hit hack installed but I went into ubb_forum_summary.cgi and removed the code as you had stated above, but it still wasn't working. I also have a bizillion other hacks installed and that could be messing it up. I used MHK for the install and everything went fine except for I believe public_edit_profile.pl and public_registration_form.pl which I manually hacked with ease.
Posted By: LK Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 08/19/2002 3:52 PM
Rehack ubb_profile.cgi.
Posted By: bizkit73 Re: [6.3.x] [beta] MyStyle™ - 08/19/2002 4:11 PM
LK, you are a god. It worked. seems that mhk only made the 1st modification in ubb_profile.cgi so I just had to add the other 2. Now it works like a charm. Thank you so much. smile smile smile

LK in your latest version in txt format on the site you have:

Quote
code:
Code
* FILES MODIFIED: ubb_profile.cgi, public_display_profile.pl, ubb_lib.cgi,	*
* ubb_lib_files.cgi, ubb_registration.cgi, ultimatebb.cgi, *
* public_edit_profile.pl, public_register_page.pl, *
* public_register_page_kid.pl, public_reg_confirm.pl, *
* public_reg_confirm_kid.pl, vars_wordlets_mods.cgi *

to which there is no mention of public_register_form.pl

Then later in the instrustions you have
code:
[qb]
Code
********************************
* Open public_register_form.pl *
********************************

Find:
=====

<tr bgcolor="$vars_style{CategoryStripColor}">
<td colspan="2">
<font size="$vars_style{TextSize}" color="$vars_style{CategoryStripTextColor}" face="$vars_style{FontFace}">
<b>
$vars_wordlets{your_preferences}
</b>
</font>
</td>
</tr>

Add below:
==========

<tr bgcolor="$vars_style{AltColumnColor1}">
<td>
<font size="$vars_style{TextSize}" face="$vars_style{FontFace}">
<b>
$vars_wordlets_mods{template}
</b>
</font>
</td>
<td>
<font size="$vars_style{TextSize}" face="$vars_style{FontFace}">
$TempDropDown
<a href="#" onclick="window.open('$vars_config{CGIURL}/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=demo;s='+document.forms[0].template[document.forms[0].template.selectedIndex].value, 'demo', 'resizable=yes,width=550,height=300'); return false;">$vars_wordlets_mods{template_demo}</a>
</font>
</td>
</tr>
[/qb]
There is a little confusion on this side of things. You never mention that public_register_form.pl is going to need modification but you do say that public_register_page.pl and public_register_page_kid.pl will need modification. Yet they never show a place to modify in the code.
