At tubal-reversal.net we use UBB classic for our forums
http://www.tubal-reversal.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php.

Early this morning all topics for the last 30 days became closed and
featured. This happened in all forums to several hundred topics so quickly
that it does not appear that it could be done by normal admin procedure, but
most likely by a bug in the program.

This has occurred three times in the past, approximately 2 and 3 months ago.
The authors of this script (Infopop) say no one else has reported this and
attribute it to hacks I have made to the script. They have not been
interested in investigating this problem although we have purchased their
Gold Support option.

I am at a loss to the cause of this infrequent but serious problem and am at
a loss as to what to do about it other than uninstalling and reinstalling
all hacks. I would greatly appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

I don't even think UBB has any code that could do that, even if it was a bug.

I would reccomend just upgrading to 6.7.2, run the forums unmodded and see if it happens again.

It would also add the Infopop copyright back to the pages, which is required with the license agreement

Also, if your forum is using modifications, Infopop doesn't provide support for modified forums, any reason on them refusing to provide support would be if you are running non-stock code.

As for modifications, which are you running out of curiority? I know of none which use any of the mass actions.

I did not notice and UBBDev modification, just massive, but varying, alterations to code

I get a javascript error on the topic pages, don't see one anywhere else. As well, I don't see any mods, just a few template changes here and there, which are allowed by IP.

yes no mods as such just a few changes to make the code more valid and bot friendly and faster loading. any body else get 5 stars at [Linked Image] netmechanic for their hacks?

also i am looking for the code that produces the /ubb/ubb_friend_mini.gif
/ubb/posticon.gif
/ubb/priv_message.gif
/ubb/move_topic.gif
/ubb/delete_topic.gif
any suggestions as to which file I might find these in

ubb_lib_posting.cgi - start there, I think you'll find most of those there smile Understand those will be controlled by styles files for the most part, so a lot of those won't be links to actual images, but $vsrs_styles {something} to call those images.
