How can I get rid of these flags for admin and moderators? I like the different colors for admin and moderators, but the flags are annoying and distracting.

The easiest way would be to make a single pixel blank gif to replace the images. You could go into the various scripts and comment the parts out but then you would need to do that every time you upgraded.
