webmaster off the moderators list

Hi, I am running UbbThreads 5.5 and I would like to know how could I get rid of the webmaster as a board moderator?
I guess it comes as a default, but is there a chance I can get rid of it?

In Admin, click Show/Edit Users.
Choose Username in the top dropdown box in the right frame.
Type the Webmaster's name in the text box, then click Submit at the bottom.

On the next screen, click their username.

Click "Remove from moderator list".

Check the checkboxes next to each forum you do not want them listed as a moderator for, then click Submit.

nope...it doesn't work...
I have the webmaster showing as a moderator in all of boards I have and I can't get him off...it does work though, with a recent new board I have created. In this board I can assign the webmaster as a moderator and get him off it wiht no probs...but it doesn't work the way you suggested, which I believe to be the proper way...
Should I try with phpMyAdmin and get him off from there?
I don't know...any idea?

Just currious... how did "webmaster" become a moderator? I didn't get that as a default when I installed 5.5

When you first "logged" in as the administrator on a newly created database did you use "webmaster" for the first registered user?

There's a hack around here somewhere (or maybe it was lost after this last down time) that allowed one to change a user's name and it reflected in all of that user's settings. Maybe that's the way to go?

yes correct.
But then again, this is not a newly created database, I did make a full installation tu run the 5.5 version, but the db is not new, it has posts, categories, groups and everything...
now the webmaster doesn't appear to be a moderator becuase I deleted from the moderators tables via phpMyAdmin, but still it appears in the moderators column...
I have no idea...it is driving me nuts...

I have altered the content of my moderators table with phpMyAdmin and now according to it the admin is not a moderator of any boards, but still it appears in the mod column...why? and how can I get rid of it?
I tried to assign him mod privileges and then revoke them but it only works with newly created tables not with old ones, and with the old ones the only thing I got was to display the admin 2 times [!!!] in the mod column....
I have to get rid of it!!!

FYI, the w3t_Boards contains a field called Bo_Moderators which drives the Moderator display on the front page.
