Anybody know why if someone hits my site by going to cmcrossroads.com instead of www.cmcrossroads.com they are not logged in.

Im running version 6.4.2

Yeah, the cookies are domain specific - so www.cmcrossroads.com is a different domain (to threads) than cmcrossroads.com by itself. You'll create MAJOR headaches for yourself by trying to use them interchangeably. Pick one and make sure the domain is consistant and the same in all your settings.

I am not sure if it still works but you used to be able to have multiple domains in config.inc via the pipe command IE cmcrossroads.com|www.cmcrossroads.com

I believe that's only for the referrer check - not the cookie domain.

To do site wide cookies (.yourdomain.com) I usually have to modifiy the cookie function in ubbt.inc.php

Thanks Josh. I was hoping it was going to be something easy oh well.

Have a look at this thread - https://www.ubbdev.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=php&Number=76542

I am hoping to be able to update that to 6.5 shortly - but feel free to have a go.

Best bet is to post in that thread, to keep the momentum going
