What should I check to find out why a couple of the IIP (5.4.3) sections aren't updating? The two sections that don't seem to be working are "Hot Topics" and "Up Coming Events".

Hot Topics: I've set this for 8 replies and to update every 20 minutes. But even though some topics have 50+ replies, nothing is displayed.

Up Coming Events: I've set this for 5 items but the items displayed are already past. I changed it to 8 and it did display 3 new items, the latest being April 15th. But I suspect that nothing newer will be displayed as time progresses.

All the other "pal boxes" seem to be working fine.

UBBThreads version 6.4.1+

ouch - that's an old version - you might try a file compare between your files and the newer versions out and see if there's an obvious bug.

I'm not sure to what you are referring to as "an old version" . . . my IIP or UBBThreads?

I have since updated IIP to version 5.45, which is the most current version I could find here for UBBThreads 6.4xx. The two Pal boxes that I asked about originally are now working fine. But it was a tradeoff because now the "Top 10 Posters" Pal isn't auto updating.

heheh, I guess I meant "both"

I believe top 10 posters relies on the cache for updating as well. It's working here, tho we're using current threads and iip versions.

Okay, one more question on IIP and then I'll drop this discussion.

In the "Profile Index" I have a problem with using Search. For example, if I check "Location" and type in a word in the search field and press "Enter", the search works fine. However, if I click on the "Go" button, the Status bar displays this: "Error on page". (There is no problem using the "Quick Search" Pal with its "Go" button.) Opening the error dialog, it reads:

Line: 256
Char: 1

Error:Object expected
Code: 0

URL: http://www.the-highway.com/forum/index.php?
Cat=0&paction=profileindex

Could you or someone give me an idea what might be causing this? I'm assuming it is a javascript error, and if is what can be done to fix this? If you suspect it is one of the Forum/Pal files, which file(s) should I be checking and for what? Again, I'm running IIP 5.4.5.

THANKS!

hmm, looks like something similar happens here. The search works, but momentarily an error icon shows in the status bar. It sounds more like a forms bug than a javascript bug (at least what I am seeing here) - the error you are reporting looks like a javascript bug tho. Can you post a link to the topic where you downloaded your version of IIP? (there's a few here).

Allyn,

When I try to include a link to the thread, the link is modified here and [censored] is inserted for the domain!!

So, let's try this:

Subject: [6.4] Integrated Index Page (IIP) 5.4.5 Finished
Date: Sat Oct 04 2003 02:40 AM
Author: JoshPet
Link: http://www.[censored]/forum/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/96289/an/0/page/4#96289

And where it shows [censored], substitute: t h r e a d s d e v.n e t (w/o spaces)
