Where would I put the Google Adsense code?

The only areas you can enter 3rd party code is:
- Header Include (inserts code above the navigation bar)
- Footer Include (inserts code below the footer)
- Sidebars
- Custom Island Insert

The includes can be found in the Control Panel at Display -> General -> HTML Includes

The Ad Insert and Sidebar islands utilize the Custom Islands in the Control Panel Portal & Islands -> Custom Islands. Sidebar islands are defined via Portal & Islands -> Column Layout

The Custom Island Insert is the box you see between the original post in a thread (or the first post of adjoining pages) and the second post, this is set in each forum's details page at Content -> Forums -> Details under "Custom Inserts"

Okay, so the Google Adsense code cannot be added for the whole forum? Would that go in the header include?

The items listed by Gizmo generally cover your whole forum:
- Header Include (inserts code above the navigation bar)

You can also use a unique Header/Footer for each forum. This is setup in the "Custom Inserts" tab per forum.

While there, the Custom Island Inserts can be used. These will show up between the 1st and 2nd post of a topic. Usually the most effective place to put ads.

As for Google Adsense, you can insert just a single piece of code from google in to your Header Inserts, which will allow Google to place their ads around your pages wherever they feel is best. I am currently using this, and it seems to work out really well for me on the sites where I use it.

Okay, and by header inserts do you mean the custom header for each forum or the Header Includes section?
