One of the mods I had with Classic--which is probably what hung up my conversion initially!--was a calendar listing that would appear on what could be consider the Portal Page.

Since I think it'd be a PITA to create (well, HAVE someone create, as this stuff is still sooooooo Greek for me! ), I'd love to see one of two things created:

1. Have an island option--that would say something like: "Today's Events"--and then it could list the birthdays or other announcements on that particular public calendar date
2. When you go into the Calender, have a box that appears automatically at the top or bottom that lists the day's events--without having to click on any links

Is this making any sense?

Very good suggestions... I'd like both of those too!!!

I'm going to bring this up top again because of upgrading to 7.1 and promising my community I'd try to get back some of the features we had at Classic.

We'd really love to have a place on the portal page that'd announce birthdays ... major calendar happenings ...
