Allen,

When I clicked on the file link, the File Download pop-up appears, but it doesn't allow me to save to a specific location.

Instead, after Estimated Time Left, Download to, and Transfer rate, there is NOTHING.

This happened to me the other day, too. frown

not sure if it's the .mhx extension causing you problems... it works fine for me - anyone else?
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 1:15 AM
try right-clicking on the link and selct 'save target as' from the menu.
Posted By: ADWOFF Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 1:40 AM
I got it to work this time. Weird.
Posted By: PrimeTime Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 2:13 AM
Is there any difference between this version and the 6.2/6.3 version?
Posted By: DarkFormula Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 2:30 AM
Can we get this in a text file, please?
Posted By: Gizmo Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 2:32 AM
Yeh allen, a lot of us don't use multihack frown .
Posted By: The Team Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 5:16 AM
Can you supply this in .txt or .zip format? I use NotePad, rather than MultiHack. Also, will it ever be possible to make PM Inbox flash when there is a private message waiting for a member?

you are welcome to make a text version...

PrimeTime, there are a few differences... I adjusted the mhx to match the differences in the 6.4 code smile
Posted By: PrimeTime Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 9:09 AM
Cool. I'll continue using the one I have now then since it works. LOL!
Posted By: Charles Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/15/2003 2:59 PM
guys just use multihack to generate a text file smile

Exported the multihack to this text file.

You can download here...

Also, I cannot seem to get this to work. I keep getting a server 500 error. The chmod is at 755. I rehacked a few times and it still comes up. Not sure what I am missing. Thanks !!!

Yes ... I keep getting the same error. I rehacked it like four times and finally gave up.
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/20/2003 6:32 AM
hmmm... me too tipsy It works fine on my stand site, but on another site I get the 500 ISE. When I get a chance, I'll see what the differences are... hopefully this week smile
Posted By: Fahd Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/20/2003 5:45 PM
Yep I'm getting the same 500 Error... Extremly strange since it worked fine on 6.3.... Might be a conflict with another hack...?

-edit-

Here's the Error the apache error log was giving me:

.
No idea how this hack could result in a "bad header" confused

Just starting using Multihack with 6.4, it really is easier after setup. MH said hack installed fine, but I also get Interal server 500 error. Looks like still holding on for now. I swear it looks like infopop would have put in some sort of notification of PM's other than email by now.

I know this isn't a big help, i'm running pm hack on my main system and it is running fine, so i've tested it today on two other systems, one is my test machine. On all the machines it just runs smoothly.

The only think is that they are all running activeperl, not the basic perl.

Perhapse there is a difference?

It seems a lot of us are having this problem. This is the one mod I would love to see implemented, but after a few days fiddling, I just can't get it to work. Tried MH and manually.

Same results.

Hmm which version because I'm running Active-perl 5.6.1.633 and I'm getting this error... The fact that this was working fine for UBB 6.3.x.x makes me suspicious though tipsy

i believe ive found the error for it theres a , missing at the end of a line

print header(
-cookie => [$pntf_cookie_data, $my_pms_cookie],
-charset => "$masterCharset"
-type => "text/html",
);

this code has the coma missing from it should be this

print header(
-cookie => [$pntf_cookie_data, $my_pms_cookie],
-charset => "$masterCharset",
-type => "text/html",
);

Posted By: Taz2661 Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/23/2003 11:21 AM
Nice one Orb wink

Thats got it working for me

I just changed it Ghost & it works great now
Posted By: The Ghost Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/23/2003 11:19 PM
Woot, gonna give it another go tonight. Again, good catch Orb. wink
Posted By: Bob Ferguson Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/24/2003 12:54 AM
You would also think they would make the PM flash in any given color to get the attention of a User who might have a private message waiting for them - vBulletin does...
Posted By: OcShoot Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/25/2003 7:29 AM
It works here too after Orb did find the fault in the script.
BUT - it is buggy ; it shows 1 new message even there are none !
And the PM inboks it doesnt work in the chatsection (we use that area of our forum to test out the mods - link )

edit: found what I was looking for
Posted By: Risperdal Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/26/2003 3:04 PM
Can someone pls tell me how this code works because it says: PM Inbox: 0 New Message(s) but when i look at the code i cant understand it:

If there are 0 new pms it still says New Message(s) behind
Posted By: Brett Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/30/2003 3:56 PM
http://www.ivegeta.com/jordo_pm.txt

That text file works as i have tested it out.

DIO: If you look at the first 'document.writeln' line. That prints out if the user doesn't have a pm cookie or one that doesn't have a valid value. The second one prints out if it does, even if the value is '0'.

If think what your looking for is to:
Quote
quote:
replace:
if(''==pms_cookie || null==pms_cookie) {

with:
if(''==pms_cookie || null==pms_cookie || '0'==pms_cookie) {
That should print '0 new', when the user has 0 new pms.

thanks it works smile
Posted By: Mirek Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/31/2003 11:21 AM
thanks yet again Brett... but that one does nothing for me... tried it 3 times and each time.. nothing, must not be grabbing the cookie for me somewhere

this is just not my day
Posted By: Brett Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/31/2003 1:23 PM
Is the 'PM Inbox' wording showing up? If not, try clearing your cache.

If it is, does your other members see it work?
Posted By: PrimeTime Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/31/2003 1:43 PM
It should work. I'm using Jordo's 1.1 PM Inbox System and no problems on my end.

Whoa...Actually this was before Brett ported it over to 6.4. I never bothered to get the newer versions of the PM hack...I just kept the 6.2x and continued using it with each UBB upgrade ever since. smile
Posted By: Mirek Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 01/31/2003 7:40 PM
Brett: thank you again, clearing the cache got it... I was trying the hack on a test board first, and didn't even think about cache because it lasts about a minute on my normal board, so it's never much of a consideration for me.

I think you have helped me with about three things in as many days.

One more question for the admins: When are you making Brett a moderator? wink

This won't work with 6.4.01 will it? I don't see anywhere in ultimatebb.cgi where you are supposed to find:

#print header(-cookie=>[$cookie1, $cookie2, $cookie3, $cookie_pms]);
Posted By: Brett Re: [6.4] PM Notification - 02/01/2003 8:59 AM
wink

¥øüñg Tæ ßÿüñ: That ", $cookie_pms" isn't supposed to the there. Sorry about that. shocked Text file updated.
