Hi Al,

it seems to be that the hack does not work correctly, or I make (again) a mistake:

(RequireCodeNoINC) NonCGIPath/Templates/public_topic_page.pl: syntax error at NonCGIPath/Templates/public_topic_page.pl line 200, near "$nation s/_/ /isg"
Compilation failed in require at CGIPath/ubb_lib.cgi line 922.

Once again, no chance of this being ported to 6.6.1?

Code
in public_topic_page.pl
replace: $nation s/_/ /isg;
with: $nation =~ s/_/ /isg;

The hack does not work, no flag is shown under the name at public_topic_page.pl

What is with users who does not want a flagg, there is no option ...
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/05/2004 9:27 PM
zip updated. d-talk, "Blank" is one of the options.

Matt, the only step that would've changed to my knowledge it the maxmem step
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/05/2004 9:43 PM
Al, it does not work... no flag...

Posted By: Digital Boy Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/05/2004 11:14 PM
Weird Al,

Thanks. I'm going to go ahead with 6.6.1 for right now and mod 6.7 later when things calm down.

Hi Al,

I was wondering that nobody new register to my board, that was becouse an error is at ubb_registration.cgi

Somethin is not safe at that file, have that something to do with the flags hack?
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/16/2004 6:37 PM
I only added one line to ubb_registration.cgi, and that line would not mess up the file.

What error are you getting?

Hi Al,

that's odd. I'll take a look at it later today
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/16/2004 8:47 PM
since @thismearray is there, you most likely messed up on installation. Rehack ubb_registration.cgi
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/19/2004 4:01 PM
Hi Al,

everytime i rehack ubb_registration.cgi I get a mistake.... eek

Global symbol "$julian_bday" requires explicit package name at CGIPath/ubb_profile.cgi line 1010.
BEGIN not safe after errors--compilation aborted at CGIPath/ubb_profile.cgi line 1088.

Thank you LK! thumbsup
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 8:03 PM
Hi Ian,

do you realy sure you updated the zip file, I have again the problem that no flag is shown...
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 8:13 PM
And now I get the following error when i want to save my profile:

Sorry, this form may only be submitted once per request to the Edit Profile page. Please use the link below to return. Do not use your back button. You will need to make your changes again. This error can also occur if you are trying to hack a profile.

» Please use your browser's back button to return.
Posted By: LK Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 9:49 PM
That error is intentional, you have to go to "my profile" and "Edit My Profile" again in order to update your profile

lol... in this board and my board it says "» Edit Profile". Are you sure you're using the 6.7.0 final public_common.pl and ubb_profils.cgi files?
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:24 PM
d-talk, delete your test forum ENTIRELY, upload a FRESH COPY of 6.7 FINAL!!, then try it.
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:33 PM
Can you tell me why? I have build in serveral hacks....

Thats a lot of work... frown
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:34 PM
Because I noticed at least one file lacking things added in 6.7 BR2, and that leads me to believe that you aren't using up to date templates
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:37 PM
I never used 6.7 BR2

Now I have uploaded public common.pl new and at least it is the same error...

Can you tell me which file you mean?
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:38 PM
I know that, you went straight from 6.7 BR1 to 6.7 final, yet things that should be in BR2 and FINAL are not there
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:41 PM
I use only 2 template files from BR1 that are:

public_forum_summary.pl

public_topic_page.pl

frown
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:43 PM
didn't you learn from when you had the graemlin popup problem? You can't reuse templates or cgi files.

It's hard to support my mods if the people using it aren't even using all the files from the same version
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 10:46 PM
Sorry but I use no .cgi file from br1 only this two template files... frown
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/07/2004 11:14 PM
It's defenetly your hack, it does not store the profile changes for the flag...

The same thing as at last time at br1, I think you did not update the zip.file...
Posted By: d-talk Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 02/08/2004 1:19 PM
Please Ian or LK,

can you have a look at the hack, the choosen flag is not stored at the profile page...

Thanks a lot

Ian,

Quote
quote:
In ubb_lib.cgi
**************

FIND:

$vars_config{'MaxMemFields'} = 43;

REPLACE WITH:

$vars_config{'MaxMemFields'} = 52;
I dont have anything like this in my ubb.lib.

Is there a chance you take a glance at my ubb_lib.cgi and tell me what should I replace?

Everything else is Okay, just the flags dont show instantly when picked in the Dropdown box. I have to save the profile change to be able to see the actual flag.

thank you very much and a Happy New Year!

Felix

unless you are using 6.7, you should be using the older version of the mod.

Also, you are not allowed to upload cgi files, so please remove it

If I'd had it I would not try to modify a 6.7 hack into a 6.3, would I? All the links to the old hack are dead.

Can I politely mention that England and Scotland are missing from the file. There are some people who  do not wish to be branded as British.

Sad - but true...
Posted By: Ian Spence Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/21/2005 4:28 AM
sorry, not up to date on the European namings, but are they not part of the United Kingdom?

If not, just add them, it's pretty self-explanatory
Posted By: Gizmo Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/21/2005 4:58 AM
Brand them all "European" wink ...
Posted By: driv Re: [6.7] [beta] Flags Mod - 01/21/2005 10:57 PM
Oh yes - I did add them already, I thought that you might want to know, that's all.

And yes - they are part of the United Kingdom - but there are those who want to be classified as English, Scotish, Irish or Welsh - and NOT British.
(They are after all, four seperate countries with seperate identities.)

Also the Irish and Welsh flags are included but not English or Scottish.

I'm not criticising - just thought for the sake of 'completeness' you would like to know.

....and as for European .......SPIT!!! wink

(That's French (or European) for No Thank you!!!!)

Works fine for me so far very kewl smile

Is it possible to make those flags to show instead of where it says " From: " at the bottom of every post?
