Modification Name: Post Approval

Author(s): Brett

Description: Using options on an added tab on the forum edit page, you can choose to make any user group be required to have moderator approval before the post is actually displayed.

The approval process involves going to the forum summary page in the CP, where it will display the number of posts in 'queue', and then clicking on the number. The following page will tell, the poster, their ip and the date it was posted. It also gives an option to open and edit the post as seen fit.

Demo: none

Requirements: 6.7.1

Download Link: https://www.ubbdev.com/ubb/upload/00006378/postapproval.zip

This is still a beta script, so please make a back up before modding. A future update will include the ability to PM the author for whatever reason.

Any criticism is welcome. smile

Well, an error was found in the install. Don't add the line
Code
$original[24] = $nar."&".$rar."&".$ear;
to ubb_lib.cgi. Taking it out should fix any subsequent errors. Zip Updated.

Has anybody tested the hack? I have problems with the new hack. I'm not able to activate any check buttons for whom the post approval is valid. The table with New Post Approval, New Reply Approval and Edit Post Approval in the cp.cgi don't save any activities. How can this be?

Thanks for help

Hello,

there seems to be an error!

At the CP you can only save 1 Point for each category.

One for News Post Approvel, one for New Reply Approvel and one for Edit Post Approvel...

Every time you click more then one nothing will be saved....

What can I do?

Thanks a lot

Desp: Is this giving you errors here? If not, make sure you applied the changes in cp2_forums.cgi.

D-Talk: After freshly installing the hack, i was unable to duplicate the issue. The main parts I would recommend to recheck is the parts in ubb_newtopic.cgi, ubb_newreply.cgi and ubb_editpost.cgi. Those files are the ones that modify the approval file and append to it. (btw, is anyone else expierencing this issue?)

Now i did notice an issue with cp2_postapproval.pl as it was pming the author, a feature i have not yet totally installed. Please redownload the zip. The only changed file is cp2_postapproval.
