it inserts markup code in your w3t.
check out an example at:

Awesome Hack, gotta have it! Where can we get that hack?
Is there a way to do this for the perl version?
How about the smilies?
I would love to have something like this.

I have a new private board going up on Thursday and I was trying to incorporate your hack. I really look forward to getting your Insert Markup Buttons.
Thanks for the good work.
Would you happen to know how to get the attachments to the posts to open in a new window?
Thanks,
Tommy
this is more of what i was thinking of doing.
http://www.extremeforums.org/newpost3.php?Cat=8&Board=testboardi just have to add it to addpost.php and d/l the perl version of w3t and i guess smilies, i think it will get to cluttered and a pop-up window would be better.

Uh, minor tweaks will be needed to get this to work with 5.4.2 . . . I got it to work with 5.4.2php at my site. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks again to poil for the original hack. Since posting a revision, I've had a request to add this particular hack's functionality to editpost.php, previewedit.php, and the markup portions to sendprivate.php and sendmessage.php (originally, I considered adding the hack to editpost.php & previewedit.php, but considered those additions a little redundant).
I may get to it this weekend (I've been busy).
In the meantime, if you're a really enterprising individual, it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to add the hack to the above scripts using the existing download; newpost.php, addpost.php, newreply, editpost.php, and previewedit.php all share some common code and a similar structure.
