I'm having some issues with the header in IE5.0Mac. I've started a white table that I want to surround the entire board, but in IE5.0Mac, it's cut off at the end of the header. It works fine in Netscape 4.7/6.1Mac/PC, IE4.5Mac, IE5.5PC, but not in nasty IE5.0Mac. And I haven't any idea why. The table should NOT be cut off at the end of the header, but it is. Has anyone else run into this problem before? Any suggestions?

I use IE5/Mac . . .

I read your post and visited the URL you included, but I'm still not clear about what the exact problem is.

Well, the link that I so hideously included there isn't the link for the board I'm having issues with, it's just a link to my personal site.

I don't want to post a link to the board I'm talking about, as it's not live yet, and I'm not sure that the client would appreciate the general public seeing it yet...

Nonetheless, I'll post a couple screen shots.

Netscape 6.1 (what it's supposed to look like):

And IE 5.0 (table is being cut off at the end of the header file):

i guess uhm, try uploading the html of the page, wierd how netscape reads it fine but ie it looks messed up. it is usually the other way around. but i guess netscape 6 it works differently. if you upload the html of the file, we can check for any html errors.

I can see the problem, but without seeing the underlying code I can only guess (not very well) what the problem might be. Sorry.

poil - Not at all the case with Macs. IE5.0Mac is a strange creature. It screws up in the strangest places.

I don't know where my head is today:
You can see the header code here. You, obviously, can't see the actual graphic or anything, as I've just uploaded the file to my own site, but I'm sure you can figure it out from the screenshots and the code together.

If you need to see something else, just let me know. I'm no thinking too clearly today apparently.
But, now there's code and screenshots. Whee!

ya the screen shot does us no good in figuring out what is wrong. obviously it is something with the html. what we need is the full source that you get from wwwthreads.php. you can pop it into your favorite text editor and delete every instance that links to the board. without tthis we won't be able to see what is wrong with the html and what needs to be done to it.

I can't imagine why you'd need to see the whole thing, as it's just being cut off at the end of the header. Well, it technically isn't. The end of the header doesn't close any of my tags. It just seems to magically end. Nonetheless, we've decided to not worry about it. Oh what the hell. If you want to take a look at it, go nuts. If you tell me that it's the <span> tag closing at the end of the header, I'm going to lose my mind. Anyway. Happy weekend, and thanks for all the time you've spent arguing with me. [heh]

haha, no arguing, if you thought it was i am sorry. most of the time, it isn't a problem with the header, but how it conflicts with the rest of the site. and i think it might be the span tag. < center > isn't recognized as html, you should use < div align="center" >fff< /div > in the footer file, or somewhere else you should end the span tag. you should check out http://www.extremeforums.org/here.html. just trying my best to help thats all.

[laughing] No no. I mean I was arguing. Just got frustrated with the damn thing.

Thanks, poil... I'll test this out when I get to work on Monday.

[sigh] I miss my Mac on the weekends.

Thanks again! I'll let you know how it works out!

Alright, I tried divs and other pretty bits of code to no avail.

I'm going to give up, and just blame it all on IE5.0Mac being a shite browser.

Thanks for all your help guys!
