Whoever made the Halloween one.. it was a big hit. I changed the background to Black... but many users are still using it.

I've promised them a Christmas one... .but am not very stylesheet savvy.

Much appreciated if anyone gets creative and posts something.

I have an old graphic those with black backgrounds (or was it gray?)... anywys, you might like it. I'll post it tomorrow when I get back to my other job

I like those.

A user of mine... added some Christmas lights to the header bar graphic.

I'll attach it here.

Posted By: JoshPet Re: Christmas stylesheet - 11/28/2002 7:55 PM
Yeah,

I didn't clarify.

The user took that graphic of Allens... and added little tiny Christmas lights to the garland as well.

So it's a wee bit more festive.
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Christmas stylesheet - 11/29/2002 7:44 AM
You need to make a couple of the lights blink ever so noticeably
Posted By: JoshPet Re: Christmas stylesheet - 11/29/2002 9:34 AM
LOL

I didn't even realize this when I posted this yesterday... I was at my new house... and didn't have the power cord to my laptop... so my time was very limited as I was running out of juice.

But the one my member modified:
[]https://www.ubbdev.com/threads/php/uploads/61174-46469-xbar30.gif[/]

The little lights twinkle and change color. It's subtle.

So subtle I didn't notice it myself yesterday.

Now there is a good use of animated gifs! I didn't notice them either until now. But most animated gifs are just obtrusive and in redirecting focus from the actual content, which is why I'm allergic to them.

I like'm we'll be dressing up here pretty soon too

Do not want to be pushy on asking for a free thing... but...
I have been coming everyday hoping to see a xmas stylesheet :-)

Are there any in the making?
Posted By: monkeyra Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 12:45 AM
i also want this!
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 4:00 AM
working on it now, will post something when I have it
Posted By: caspe7_dup1 Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 4:10 AM
*edit* don't mind what I said below, I'm sure Allen will do a much better job than the one i put together (didn't see Allen's reply )

I've put together the stylesheet on my site. (thx to JoshPet Member for the editing of the image, Ubbdev, for the background image and overall color design)
There some things I want to fix, but over all i like

If you want, I can post it up, if its alright with those people above..

(again, i take no credit for this, I'm sure they've put a lot of hard work in to each part)

http://www.prowrestlingforum.com/threads/index.php?Cat=

If do want me to put it up, i'll get to it after class (which i'm going to right now )
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 4:24 AM
I like it Please share it Mine is similar but still has a ways to go (working on ~3-4 projects at once )
Posted By: JoshPet Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 6:06 AM
Yeah cool!!!!

Post it.

Threads dev is all about "collaborative efforts".

That's how we get cool stuff.
Posted By: caspe7_dup1 Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 8:17 AM
You'll need to add a table with a new class, so you don't have to have christmas threw out all of your stylesheets

Wonderful!

Thank you.

Some of my users always want a "large font" version.
Attached to this post is a large font version of your stylesheet.

You need to add this to the other download. I'm attaching just the large font stylesheet.

Also....

I thought the snowflakes were too subtle for my taste.

So I darkened up the image a bit. If anyone wants darker (less subtle) snowflakes.... the replacement snow.gif is attached.

Thanks again.... this is awesome!!

BTW - FYI

If anyone wants to "force" this stylesheet on all users.... choose it as the default in your theme file.... then run this SQL Query from your admin menu:

UPDATE w3t_Users
SET U_StyleSheet = 'usedefault'

Thanks Josh

My users too like large fonts.

Just by changing the stylesheet adds that bit much to the users satisfaction

Thanks to all

Excellent!

Just a comment.. The font color of the subjecttable is black on mine, yet the css was set to #ffffff (white). Any ideas. Feel free to ceck out this link just to see the table and color. My Web Page
Posted By: caspe7_dup1 Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/04/2002 6:05 PM
I'm not sure right now why its doing that
Maybe I can find out when I get back home.

You can fix the .tdheader links (its red on green, right now)
Add this (will change it to white on green):
code:

.tdheader A:LINK {

color: #ffffff;

}

.tdheader A:VISITED {

color: #ffffff;

}

.tdheader A:ACTIVE {

color: #ffffff;

}

Try this, I believe all of the red on green links are now white, and black on green should also be showing up as white.

ok, call me stupid but i cant get the lights showing!
i amended the template, but get a blank box now
whats this class business?
Posted By: ehm Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/05/2002 3:46 AM
this could be also stupid, but are you sure you upload the images to /images directory (bellow /stylesheet) AND updaload as a Binary? Try to upload again and make sure it is binary.
I make this kind of mistake every other time...
Posted By: ehm Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/05/2002 4:11 AM
The name of "last new member" (on the very low of default template) is now white in a white background... since I'm new on this, can I have a little help on where I have to change it?
Also the last 24 hours, 7 days and 1 month 'last messages" are white in white background

Thank you
Elton

I don't know if anyone notices but the page numbers are all white on the Subject line and with a white table you can't see them.

I made the following changes so that you can see the page numbers.

.small A:LINK {
color: #ab4a3a;
}

.small A:VISITED {
color: #ab4a3a;
}

.small A:ACTIVE {
color: #ab4a3a;
}

I tweaked this a bit more.....

This is mostly caspe7's work... just tweaked it a bit based on feedback of my users.

I used more Red Text... and some of the boxes with the dark green background have been changed to a light green.

So instead of just green and white.... there are two shades of green in play now.... my users have found it a bit more pleasing and a bit easier to read.

I've attached a zip of caspe7's work (with my tweaks). This zip also includes a large font version.

You can see it in use at http://www.measurection.com/forums/ubbthreads.php

I notice whenever I put the christmas lights up my CPU jumps too 100%. Has anyone else noticed this?
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/07/2002 10:35 PM
I hadn't, but it's an almost 40k file with 34-35 frames eek If you have an older pc it'll probably slow it a bit
Posted By: msula Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/08/2002 4:46 AM
I had just recieved reports of a CPU spike on users since I added the christmas theme... others say it seems a bit slower Hmm...
Posted By: AllenAyres Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/08/2002 10:27 AM
You can grab the other graphic from the link I pointed to at ubbdev on page one or so here
Posted By: JoshPet Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/08/2002 12:45 PM
Yikes.

I hadn't noticed.. as a user did it for me.. but people have been thinking that our site was acting slow.
Posted By: msula Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/08/2002 5:11 PM
Cool, yeah I will just update to a non-animated version, that should help. It took people a few days, but more and more people were thinking my site was slow. That's blasphemeus!
Posted By: Lunatik Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/08/2002 7:41 PM
LOL. Its not an old computer. 2.4 Ghz with 533 Mhz bus. And it still spiked it to 100%
Posted By: omegatron Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/08/2002 7:56 PM
I noticed no slowdown but I switched to the non animated one just to be safe. I can do without the extra overhead and twinkling lights. a 2.5K file is alot better than 40K
Posted By: Lunatik Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/11/2002 7:21 PM
6.2 + Color Suggestion.

I was playing around with the new table options for new posts and I was thinking of these colors.

.newlighttable {
background: #66CC99;
font-weight: bold;
}
.newdarktable {
background: #33FF66;
font-weight: bold;
}

Did anyone notice yet that font colors aren't working?? I hadda take it down 'cuz people were complaining they couldn't change their font colors anymore.... geez......*LOL* Any ideas??
Posted By: msula Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/12/2002 6:28 AM
Mine noticed that as well. I told them to "@#*% Off" and not worry about it because I felt like being in the holiday mood.

lol

*LMAO* Cutting and pasting.............
Posted By: Beentheredonethat Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/17/2002 5:45 PM
Nice stylesheet.
Thanks. I have installed it.

It can also be used foir St Patricks day :-)

Trying to put some more red on it...

Is the moderator still planning on adding a xmas template or is this it?

Posted By: ehm Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/21/2002 4:11 AM
I'm new with CSS and I was work all week long and I could not find where to fix it:
There is many 'black text' over 'dark green' and my guess is the text should be white. Where I change it?
Some places where it is happen:
1) Right below you see thread, on the description to all other threads, there is a white text with "Entire thread" and below it is a black text "Subject Posted by Posted on" in white.
2) bellow that, "additional information", is also in black.
How can I fix it?
Thank you
Elton
Posted By: donnti Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/21/2002 11:57 PM
I was playing around with the color scheme because when you enter into a forum I get the Subject, Poster, Views Replies, Rating and Last post are red against a dark green back ground and also at the bottom the "Extra information" which is black is also in a dark green. Even though I have yet to find where I change this in the .css I had noticed that when I refresh my page I kept getting the same colors. Then I realized I had to delete the stored webpage’s in the browser.
Posted By: ehm Re: Christmas stylesheet - 12/23/2002 11:51 PM
I understood you had to 'Refresh' your client browser.
Well, it's not the problem on my side. I have the save red text in dark green in all my computers, in 3 different browsers, and some of my users are complaing about it.
I guess is something I have to do on .css file, but I don't know where

Check the thread entitled "color maps for threads" - that will help you find a lot of the areas you'd like to change
