ok i've had some good help here, so wanted to give what i can back, i decided to try and make a .css, i call it af_v1 as its the first colours i made for my forum when it was a ubb board. hope it can be of use to some.

You will need to edit the .css file and change the path to the background image.

Now has a nice background and new font sizes. Looks much cleaner.

Can I see this 'live' some place?
Can you give the url of your forum?

it would be faster for you to install it than to go to my site, register and then select it from the themes.

Updated this, now the link colours are correct, even if my spelling of colours is not.
