So far I haven't seen any sites with very different templates at work ... anybody have some links? Or are there any yet?

heheh.. I don't think there are many. I've seen 2-3 examples of ubb-skins, but they are private forums waiting for v6 to be released before they tinker with the php code

I know you've posted a few templates here. You've provided links to see what they look like, but I'm just not seeing it. I've followed the links, but they just point to pages I've already seen before. How are the templates you've created different from the originals?

heheh.. I've uploaded the basic templates each time of upgrade to make sure any bugs found are in the base code and not my templates

I'll put mine back up this weekend if it continues to rain here
