What is it?: A chrome wrapper in the 5x3 table wrapper style.

If you've already installed the 5x3 table wrapper then just upload the graphics to your web server, add my CSS classes(I used the same CSS class names as the original 5x3 table wrapper), and change the path in the CSS classes to match where you stored the graphics.

If you haven't installed my 5x3 wrapper then I've included the tbopen and tbclose templates that you will need, as well as the clear gif file for the forground graphics. You will have to edit the path to the graphics in the templates to match where you store the graphics on your server.

Chrome is, well... chrome. So I did not include any color variation with this one

I'm not using it on my site, but there seem to be enough car enthusiasts around here so I thought I'd do a tabble wrapper in chrome

Anybody got a demo or a screen shot?

haha, users on my site are anti-chrome, eventhough they are an automotive group. But yes, a screenshot would be great

I may have to set up a temp style sheet and do a screen shot of this one if no one is currently using it.

I have installed this on my dev forum.

You can have a look at it at http://dev.niden.net/forum

Did you forget the spacer.gif file?
Posted By: dimopoulos Re: [6.2] Chrome table wrapper - 02/05/2003 5:16 PM
Did I? Let me check
Posted By: dimopoulos Re: [6.2] Chrome table wrapper - 02/05/2003 5:26 PM
No the spacer is there allright. The forums look ok but the home page looks really weird. There is a huge gap inbetween the two tables....

Oh well I won't bother with it at the mo since I installed this only for a demo for you guys here.

I installed this on my forum and the guys love it. (We are car guys so of course we like it) I have installed the newsfader mod previously and is there a way to make it go around it also?

Posted By: Dalantech Re: [6.2] Chrome table wrapper - 02/18/2003 9:34 AM
I'll have to take a look at that mod and see what I can do. It probably does not use a template.
Posted By: Dalantech Re: [6.2] Chrome table wrapper - 02/18/2003 9:48 AM
OK, the News Fader does use a template, but it does not use the $tbopen or $tbclose variables. Attached to this post is a modified version of the template that comes with the News Fader mod. Let me know if it works and I'll go back to the News Fader thread and attach the file there as well.

Looking good Rutto!

I'm still playing with the colors but here's what I have so far. If I could only remember what controls the font color in the News Fader I'd be in good shape. LOL

This is great!

I put this on this site:

http://www.o-state.com/forum/index.php

But when I did, it seemed to stretch out the side columns of the IIP.

The left and right columns were supposed to be like 20%

Can the table wrappers scale that small?
Posted By: Dalantech Re: [6.2] Chrome table wrapper - 02/20/2003 8:10 AM
The minimum size that the table wrappers will scale down to is 180 pixels wide by 30 pixels high. So you will see a limit to just how small the IIP columns will look. When I was doing testing on the table wrappers 180 pixels looked acceptable. Going smaller reduces the effects that can be done with the images to the point where it's better just to use a solid color instead of a gradiant.

For the chrome table wrapper, since all the images that you see are background images and there is no large horizontal gradiant, you could set the following table cells in the tbopen and tbclose templates to use a different width (listed by the CSS classes that control them):

  • topleft
  • topright
  • botleft
  • botright
I would set them all to the same size. Keep in mind that the forground transperant gifs are 10 pixels square so you won't be able to go below 50 pixels wide unless you change them as well.
